Has to be the property owner protecting long term value, no?

It needs protection of its ability to generate income, not for protection of public credibility.
 
It is censors for the provider, broadcast or streaming service, are doing the shredding, Not Mel Brooks or the production company that owns it.
Sure, the owner of the rights wanna make $$$. But it is ART, and art should be viewed as the artist intended, not some putz' concept of it.
If you think the licensee can modify the product, it can't.

The licensee CAN say no airing to the licensor unless changes are made...
