I liked Dokken back in the day. Still rock a couple of their songs in my playlist. (Kiss of Death, Alone Again, It's Not Love. This song reminds me of I'm the One, by Van Halen. Almost too similar to be pure coincidence. I'm the One. VH

Love me some Dokken. Alone Again is an amazing ballad. Dream Warriors was an awesome song. Heaven Sent is another great ballad.

Dang man, think you’re into something there. I remember reading interviews with Van Halen where he talked about turning his back when he would do certain things live, so people couldn’t steal his stuff. Wonder if he had George Lynch in mind?

If you listen to Van Halen’s Eruption and then Dokken’s Paris is Burning live there are more uncanny similarities.

I think it’s cool to wear your influences on your sleeve, but we should all live our own song. Still get a kick out of it though.
