Yes thank you for reminding me about dogs and chocolate , it was him figuring the cookies smelled good and that he would just help himself to a few !
We learned to really keep an eye on him if we did any baking while he was in the house ha ha
Sadly he came down with cancer shortly after I had but he didn't make it , I even took him to a local drive inn for a ice cream cone and he refused to even try it .
I should of offered him a cookie or a stick of butter instead ha ha !

I even had to lift him in and out of the 4 Runner , I even put his favorite blanket down for him to sit or lay down on for his last trip to the vet .

Gizmo our little Yorkie / Pekinesse took it hard as where one went the other was behind him shortly , they were the daring duo for a few years ha ha !
That's so sad to hear. Pets seem to create extra sympathy/empathy because they depend on you so much. Best pals you can have.

Vets caution against chocolate, garlic and onions. Poisonous.
Hope this helps.

:ROFLMAO:

The German Shorthair that ate a massive pile of sausage my wife made before I could get any ate worse. Wood. Tarps including metal grommets. Attempted a wasp. Don’t know if he swallowed but his swollen face gave it away. We discovered his stomach contents after he ate a big sheet of visqueen. Had to make him throw up with hydrogen peroxide per vet instructions. Reminded me of the scene in Jaws where they autopsy the shark and find beer cans and license plates and such.

I didn’t care if that dog got into chocolate or onions. 🤬😆
