Funny trash talk to start the tar match :)

Someone asked if this is a "loser leaves town" match and shaw confidently says "oh no, if I lose I'm quitting pool."

Mike: "would you really play for that? Loser has to quit pool?"

Shaw: "absolutely, let's do it."
(actually it was like this: "ab-seh-loot-leh, layts dew et")

then:

"But if we agree to it mark must make sure you're banned from CSI events. And you could never play in the US Open again, or the mosconi cup."

mike: "well I feel like I'm the loser on my side of that bet cuz I've already played in the mosconi cup and you haven't."

shaw: "yeh but if I did I wouldn't dog it."

mike laughs: "yeah well, we'll never know!"

shaw: "oh you'll know. The funny thing is, you've been playing 9 ball your whole life and I've only been playing it like 6 months!"

And so on. They're friendly but they're gonna make this interesting, I have a feeling.

Congrats to you sir. You just got me buy the PPV.

I guess it's baloney sandwiches for dinner this weekend. Hope they make it worth my suffering.

I hope you guys jumped in, in time to hear some of this other shit. It's hilarious.

JCIN is on the subject of mike having to fade trash talk. "Someone said
his head is so big that when it rains his clothes don't get wet".

Relating corey's comment to mike before this match:

"Hey good luck, don't forget to order the turkey dinner."

Missed the banter, but this should be good. Three bad miscues for MD already with that funky cue, though. He used that one for the first couple days at Turning Stone, then he switched to a regular cue at the end. Wonder why?

I think it's back to the drawing board for predator. I dunno. Most miscues the guy is just
trying to do too much. I also see they're using predator chalk and I find it not as soft as
masters. It might stick ok once you apply it, but you must work twice as hard to get it on.

Doesn't matter though, jayson is absolutely unafraid and confident. He's 2-stroking
everything and keeps speeding up. It just bit him in the ass I think but overall he's
making the outs look easy and it helps he's figured out the break totally.
2 balls minimum and keeps hanging the 1 near the corner.

Mike is on tilt a little about this cue I think, there's no jump cues and he keeps trying
jumps with his playing cue. Keeps hitting the blocker and going off the table.
It's turning out rough for mike and I honestly wouldn't fault him if he blamed the cue.

12-5 shaw.

Why not?

This is a pretty big match up that he's been fully aware of for awhile. Isn't it on him to be comfortable with the cue he's going to be using? It's not like his tip fell off when he got there, and he had to pull a warped stick off the wall.

It was 16-7 Shaw. He actually got to 16 by shitting 2 or 3 safes in a single game. Mike looked pretty tilted.

It's now 16-9 after two scratches by Shaw and then Mike ran out.

16-11 at the break.

I will say the last 4 games that Mike has won were pretty much flawless.

In the last game before the intermission, he made 4 balls on the break. Had this shot on the 4 ball and just drilled it.

No, I guess that's fair, but predator asked him to test this cue for them.
They sign his paycheck. What's he gonna do, tell them to pound sand?
If he stopped using it after everyone noticed it (which they all did in MD)
people would say "the new predator must suck, mike had to switch back."

Actually someone in chat said he did switch back in some smaller event recently.
But who knows. He's being triple careful chalking now.

He's annoyed at the forced break cuz he finally got momentum back in his favor.
I think he's on a 3 pack and brought it back to within 5 games + breaking.
I don't think he's dry broken once also though the CB may get kicked.

Jayson loves it though "yeah sorry but, the break is required!"... Jayson also giving him hell
because mike carelessly knocked the 6 ball into the hole with his hand or something while
lining up on a shot. Since it's cue ball fouls only they spotted it, he apologized and kept going...
but Jayson's like "this is why the game will never be on TV!"

For your entertainment during the break, this is my cat who cannot stop trying
to get into this pizza box. She has decided to try just sitting on it to see if it will hatch.

Mike has officially got his shit together. Before the break he ran 3. He just ran 2 after the
break. Every break he hits lobs in one or both 2nd row balls, and the 1 hangs up in
the corner. It even gets bumped and then hangs there anyway.

Yeah, Mike is playing beautifully right now, but that mental error on the eight in Rack 30 may be costly, as Jayson now leads, 17-13.

aaaaaaaaaaaaand he lost his shit. About to complete a six-ish pack,
ran the whole rack perfect, ended up like this on the 8. Instead of just softly
spinning the 8 in and holding the cue ball, he tried to go up and down and ended up like this.

After the miss he was really pissed at himself.

Jayson dry broke right after but Mike wasn't able to recapture all that lost momentum.
