For the true pool aficionados, this table won't do. However, for those whose homes just aren't quite big enough to house a regulation size table and enjoy the game, this fits the bill, the Fusion Table by Aramith.

I wonder if it was at the recent BCA Expo show in North Carolina. I would have liked to have seen it. It's very contemporary-looking, with sleek lines, and comes in a variety of colors. Plus, it's useful as a table. Can't beat that.

With the vast and growing Russian market, Fusion Tables decided to show its design and sleek tables during MosBuild Fair. It seems to be getting rave reviews around the world, according to the website, though I hadn't heard of this table before.

Has anybody experienced playing on this table yet? With the Aramith name, I'm thinking it must be quality. I'd absolutely love the way this would look in my office as a conference table. Hmm, I'm thinking tax writeoff! :D

I like it .....Nice clean lines....I like the Scandinavian design, but It's probably not a table you can lean on....
 
Hard to understand where the balls go, I guess they just tuck away in the corner somehow?
 
It makes for a very nice-looking dining room table! :)

I think they just sit there, and if you pocket too many in the same corner, you'd have to clear it out. Looks like it holds up to three balls! :p

I also like this poker inlay for the table. This is a nice complement. You just insert this felted poker table thingie, and voila, a poker table! :p

Congrats on 3rd in the world. You had me scared there for a few minutes, but I finally locked up 2nd a few seconds before the end....peck......peck.. peck.peck...where is that = key? Johnnyt

The guy in second place is from Turkey, and the first place champion is Russian. I'm gonna get 'em this year and be number one. It's tough, though, because I'm on QWERTY and they're using a DVORAK keyboard. I'm still gonna get 'em this year and become the 2008 champ. USA, all the way! :p

To stay on topic of the thread, it does looks like a wife would like this table. It seems very easy to transform back into a piece of furniture for the home. :)

I'm going to ask a potentially stupid question: If they are using Dvorak layouts, how are they allowed to use that in a competition based on QWERTY? And how does it make it easier for them?

Competitors can use whatever keyboard they desire, and the competition is not based on QWERTY. QWERTY is the keyboard that I use, and I just can't switch to a DVORAK, though DVORAK seems to be what the fast typers use these days.

Notice they are using the red-dotted cueball in this pic on the website. Wonder if the table comes with a set of balls!

No doubt

this idea originated from a guy that used to put a 4 x 8 piece of plywood over an 8 foot table. My brother uses his 8 foot table as a buffet table for family dinners, after it is covered of course.

Looks like something you'd buy at IKEA. I worked at a Swedish BioTech company that would have been all over that. We are doing a re-design of our space at work now, wonder if I cut out all of the pool table pictures I can sell that to them as a regular table. Think of all the hustling I can get in at lunch.

My roommate and I used DVORAK for a year or so. I certainly didn't notice any appreciable difference in typing speed or accuracy although I wasn't competing...

However we just used a qwerty keyboard and re-configured with the software. Of course you can never look down... :p
