Future Cues Grand Opening - Temple, TX

Had another question I wanted to post the answer to here:

Yes, all of our Diamond tables are going to utilize the new 1" single piece slate

You should consider sponsoring one of the BigTruck livestream shows and have your pool room advertised on the Lafayette, LA livestream in October. By then you'll have the kinks worked out and be ready for new customers.

The White Diamonds BIG CALCUTTA, tournament and the Chris Miller show is something to see and plenty of people watch this event on the BigTruck show.

He has a premium membership thing that he is starting and who knows that might be all you need to get your pool room advertised on the BigTruck show.

The premium membership deal should be a good value to those who get in on the ground floor and it will allow the BigTruck show to have a base to work off of. Anyway, I thought especially since you are from Texas, you could hook up with another Texas enterprise and do both of you some good.

Either that, or get in contact with a pool commentator that you know and have him mention your new pool room. ;)

Good luck to you in your new endeavor. Always nice to see a room OPENING instead of closing. Take care of your customers and they will take care of you!

Must haves - ATM machine; nachos and cheese, pizza, chicken wings, burgers and fries are good also, some people like a good hot dog as well. Make something your signature food, the best burger or ?. Forget full meals, that's a losing proposition. Nice cold beer, on tap and in the bottle. Cool video games - shooting games, racing games. Heck, even Pacman and old style pinball machines still get good play. Billiard supplies, good cues at low prices, books, DVD's, the works. Cue repair service (even if you send it out). Cue lockers (a plus!). You got the room, use it. A smoking lounge is nice too, preferably a patio.

They're in Central Texas, a good move might be some BBQ (brisket and sausage)
I think Clem Mikeska is out there.

Broken, that's a great idea. I'll run down to Clem's tomorrow and see if we can work something out. Thanks!

Sounds like an awesome place.

If I ever get back out that way, i'll definitely stop in.

Good luck on your endeavor.

Make sure you do :)

You play for free first night you get back. Thanks again for the awesome idea.

What items would you guys like to see on the monthly raffles? I was thinking of getting a break cue for Octobers raffle.

Had a chance to snap a couple pics today.

First two are of the bar. It's still a little dusty because of the work still going on, but this will give you a chance to see it. First bar I've ever built and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Hope our customers will appreciate it as well :)

We also got the lounge mostly finished. The lounge is a 1,000 sqft area that will have leather theater seating in the front row, with tables spread out in the rest of the room. There are also 3 8' windows that look into the lounge so you can see the big screen from almost anywhere in the venue. Soon as this room is finished we are installing a HD projector with a 120" screen. It's gonna be a killer spot to watch some Football.

Anyway, that's what I've been working on for the past few weeks. Hope you guys like it

nice

nice room good luck im in louisiana and travel to TX from time to time next time im out there ill make sure to stop by and check it out

Very nice! I wish you the best. Consider putting in a carom table if your business grows and you can accomadate one. Parts of Texas are cranking with 3C.

If I expand the building I'll definitely put in the tables for 3C and snooker. It's gonna be a while before I can do that though. Gotta get the business going first. Glad you guys like the pics so far. Wait till it's done and it's gonna be really nice :) thanks again for the support.

The bar looks beautiful!

Best of luck to you, but I don't think you'll need it. Sounds like you have a great thing lined up.

Quick question. I'm getting a bunch of sets of Aramoth Pro balls. Is the cue ball that comes with these good enough, or should I invest in aftermarket cue balls?

IMHO...The cue ball that comes with the Aramith Pro balls are good. When it comes to opinions on cue balls, its all about preference. If a player likes a particular cue ball, they just buy one and keep it in their case. I have a few friends that do carry their own. I think it gives them a little advantage because they are use to playing with it. So just put that money back into your pocket for something else better.

On a different subject...Almost nothing beats scratching your legs with some cold beers, BBQ and pool. Looks like I found my new rest stop between Fort Worth and Austin. Save me a spot because I am looking forward to playing on the 9' Diamond tables.

Will do. Thanks for the advice! See ya around Aikon :)

U might be interested in our grand opening tourneys. $500 added Sept 30th & Oct 1st.

Looking Forward to going

The only pool halls I've been to in that area are the Green Room and Dooley's.

Looking forward to seeing this place

You are actually only about 30 minutes from FT Hood and I wouldn't recommend Clem Mikeska BBQ. They have a big name in CENTEX, but it's over priced and not as good as others. Try Fat Boys BBQ next door to Green Room.

I saw your website is asking for APA teams. Are you entertaining any ideas of BCAPL?? That area has always been a stronghold for APA, between Dooleys and the Green Room there has always been APA.

There are a a few hundred BCAPL players in the Killeen area and some of the Temple players come over to play in that league. Might be worth your time to consider a BCAPL league. Just putting that out there

Hi ne14tennis,

Ya I do have plans for BCA. I've talked to them and have approval to start a league here in Temple. I plan on putting out sign up sheets when we are open for players who are interested in BCA. Once I get enough people signed up, and find someone who wants to run it we'll get things started.

Your right about APA being a stronghold up here, that's why I have it on my website. I want to get most of the APA teams over at my place, and get BCA going shortly after.

Our place is at least 2x maybe even 3x as big as Dooleys and Green Room. Don't let the 16 tables fool you, I could have fit 20-30 if I wanted to. Instead I opted for more seating and greater comfort instead of cramming tables everywhere. I want people to hang out and drink and socialize, as well as play pool. We are catering not only to the pool players, but to the general public as a bar. It will definitely be unique to this area, and I have high hopes for it.

We have 8,500 SQFT here, every table will have 6' of clearance all the way around. We have a huge bar, a lounge that seats 50 and tons and tons of seating around the venue for leagues and sweaters. Almost all the pool tables have 12 seats in close proximity.

I appreciate the tips, hope to see you there!
