FYI Barry Szamboti on Ebay

Bid over $8000

At $8,051 now.

Just love pumping up someone else's sale on a big cue I can never afford. Well at least until after the divorce:grin-square:.

So will it clear $10000 by auction close at 7:52 am EST?? Set your alarms early if you plan on bidding.

Well, I think he would have gotten more money trying to sell it on AZ. The 10K on ebay means he will be getting less than 9K net depending on payment type. Fee for ebay and paypal alone is a whopping 13%. No wonder ebay stock price is up.

$1300 in fees for doing what exactly? Maybe he was worried about buyers not wanting to risk shipping from overseas. Who would you escrow with? 10K is alot of money to trust to anyone.

My costs including PayPal (which is very seldom used in eBay transactions this large) comes to about 6.5% on a sale of this amount.

Interestingly, the auction has (I believe) been removed. Anybody got the skinny?

Thanks

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

I'm surprised you didn't notice the change in ebay fees. :? Here's the link:

I was shocked when I got my invoice.

Hi Kevin,

You're right. Just read again and I assumed that the 9% also applied to 1000.00 plus items as well but it's limited to 100.00. When I spoke to the reps, she said it applied to the total amount.

Thanks for the clarification.

I know all about the change. The fees really fall off over 1K. Plus eBay kicks me back 20% at the end of the month. PayPal's fees go down also with volume.

Thanks again

Kevin
