To all that was concerned or didnt know the full facts of tiger x shaft warranty...It is 30 day warranty...I bought a shaft from a vendor at the valley forge last year and used the shaft 3-5 hrs max and had it for a back up..
I went to get it out of a climate controled gun safe and it has the worst case of warpage i have ever seen..Being the shaft is 10 months old i thought i could send it back for a new one...WRONG....I got an email from tiger saying this

"This warranty does not include cue or shaft warpage! Bearing in mind that cues & shafts are made of wood, warpage is not considered a defect though we make great efforts to ensure that every cue and shaft that leaves our facility is straight!"

Please be advised all warranty info on other websites may need to be corrected..So if you buy a shaft from tiger you better hope it warps within 30 days..Be my last purchase from them

I had a few warp that were less than a year old and they offered to try and fix them for me. Not sure what they could have possibly done. I just gave up.

Yea they offered to "look at it" shipping there plus $15 return id be over $200 in a shaft thats junk..I dont know when they put the 30 day disclaimer in...
Also maybe they arent letting things cure properly idk..I can say corey harper was very helpful when he was there..

well i have one for my viking and i have stored it in my room just in a leather case and its fine , its great shaft but all wood will eventually warp to some degree:(

Isn't warpage kinda considered like headlights or brake pads on a car. Yes it would be nice if when you have a warranty on them they are covered, but there always seems to be some caveat.

i emailed him twice...Tony Kalamdaryan was the one that responded...thanks tho

Well,
Me and Tony are not brothers but we get along very well and always treated me right. I will try to help you guys out in any way I can. I am a Tiger dealer... I always try to look out and try to fix anything I can because I believe on the product but I can not promise you anything.

I have a 4x8 case where I keep all my shafts. Standard, Tiger X, and Predator 314-2. Only the Tiger shafts warped. If the other shafts had warped I would be incline to think that my storage methods should be in question.

There was this one instance where I ordered a Tiger shaft from Seyberts and it was warped extremely bad right out of the box. They exchanged it for me and that warped 2 months later.

During that 2 months, I found that Tony (BENFICA) had really great deals on the Tigers shafts so I ordered 2 more from him. I had custom ringwork done on one to match the cue I was using it on and the other was for another cue. These 2 shafts warped within a few months after first shaft I bought from Seybert's warped.

The degree of warpage for each shaft varies. These shafts were all the Tiger Ultra X shafts.

I do have one of the first Tiger X shafts that is NOT the Ultra version and that is still straight.

Corey directed my PM to Tiger and they gave me the whole 30 day warranty breakdown but offered to try to fix the warped shafts. As far as I know, there is no fix for warped shafts so I just gave up and left it like that.

:thumbup:I just want to state that Tony (BENFICA) is a stand up guy and my situation does not reflect on him in any way. I have done business with BENFICA several times after this whole Tiger fiasco. He has the best prices and he is an asset to the AZBilliards community. Even when something is delayed that is beyond his control, he goes above and beyond to try to make it right.

I Agree- I have ordered from Tony twice as well, and he has always been a great guy to do business with. Sorry to hear about your dealings with the x ultra shaft; hopefully the whole issue can get resolved peacefully.

I have two Tiger X shafts. Both have ferrules that CAN'T be cleaned!

I contacted Tiger and they agreed that the material used was BAD!

Of course it will cost $40.00 each to replace with material that is good?

Plus shipping both ways of curse.

I've spoken with both Tony and Cory and they appear to be stand up guys but I personally feel that the company doesn't back up their X shafts with a decent guarantee.

I exchanged emails with Tony and the answer is not very encouraging.
All I ask is if anybody bought directly from me just let me know what the issues are so I can try to address them the best I can, but I can not promise anything since I depend on Tiger feedback.

If any product fails within its useful lifetime to the original retail end purchaser the item will be repaired or replaced at no charge.

There is a $15.00 SH & H charge, so please include a Money Order with the package or you can pay by credit card (USA customers only). For international customers, please email or call to find out the SH & H charge.

I am not saying that Tiger shafts are ultra perfect, but I can tell you that I have a couple of XUltra shafts and I traveled to DC, Chicago and Vegas and the shafts are dead straight...
Each situation is different. These shafts are not cored with any carbon fibers or rods, they are laminated wood, so the danger of warpage is there... I wish I could be a better help to you guys.

Checking to see if there is anything new on this. i have a buddy who had pretty much the same thing happen with a x ultra shaft that was about 3 months old...took it out of the case one day and it had a massive warp in it.

I just started using my Josey again that someone in my family was using. The Tiger ultra x shaft on that is warped now too. That makes 4 shafts I have that is warped and the 1 that was exchanged by Seybert's. That makes a total of 5 Tiger Ultra x shafts that has been in my possession in the last year that has warped within the first few months from purchasing them. I am done with these shafts. Too bad, I love how they play.

I think I will just dump them off at the Tiger booth at Valley Forge and just state what I think of their shafts and move on.

The older not "Ultra" Tiger x shaft is still straight. The ferrule looks like crap but its still straight. So I will keep that one.

:thumbup:I want everyone to know that BENFICA called me to follow up on this Tiger shaft debacle after he read this thread. He was genuinely concerned and wanted to make it right. I told him it was not his fault and it was Tiger's responsibility to acknowledge that there is a concern with their shafts. BENFICA did NOT want to accept that and wanted to do something for me. He felt bad that I spent all this money on the shafts.
I am not rich by any stretch of the imagination, but I just look at it as money spent to find out Tiger is not for me. I am over it.

It's all good BENFICA, you are one of the good guys

Damn that sucks. However I really do like the idea of dropping them off at the Tiger booth. That would be priceless.

This almost sounds like a recall situation. Too bad shafts dont have serial numbers or any way of tracking them from production to sale.

I think that if you really want to make a point... Dump the shafts at the Tiger booth... Maybe that can used as a wake up call and maybe Tiger will really start thinking that there is something wrong and they need to figure out how to address the issue.

I have owned and repaired a lot of cues and i dont believe all shafts will warp eventually, usually ones that are not properly aged and turned, too new,or poor wood in the first place bend,i have worked on a lot of predators and have to say they stay straight, they do have some ferrule problems,i dont use them,i use shafts i make myself and they stay straight, just my observations

handling situations like this sheds light on how they run their bussiness and the type of decisions they make on a day to day basis. I know what it costs to make those shafts and If I was tony I'd trade you for a brand new one on the spot. Royce at OB would most likely do the same(i'm just guessing). Perhaps their biz decisions like this one here might be why Cory is HP at HT, thats actually a big title in that room, Cory is a very sincer, loyal dedicated person, who I am proud to be good friends. I hope he does well.

Additionally I'm not knocking Tony or tiger or tony the tiger, I just think they made a bad decision in this case. I hope they have continued success, but i dont think they will have the market share they were getting in 3 years from now. Just sayin'

best
eric
