First off, I tried searching thru advanced search and couldn't find any info. Next, I have a cue with the black/dark green glass G 10 radial pin that cuts wood when I tighten up the shaft. What can I do to remedy this situation??? Can the pin be polished like a SS pin??

Thanks for the help.

Try wet sanding the pin with 600 and then 1500. Then wax it or put a drop of oil on it. This should work.

G10

Cut some 1000 in strips that will fit into the groove, polish the grooves and the thread points..Clean, and the QUICKLY wipe on a super thin coat of THIN CA...Don't let it build up, best done in a lathe..Puts a cover finish on the G10 that smooths it out..At least it has worked for me...:)

Finish buffing material will polish the G10. Then a little cue wax applied to the pin will smooth everything up.

I used this method with great success. My buffer was turning 3500 RPM's and I used my mid range stick style buffing compound rouge, then finished it with 1750 RPM's on the big Grizzly dual buffer with polish. I taped up the end of the ivory joint with blue masking tape so I wouldn't lift the finish and have a bigger mess than I started with. I'll try and post pics today.
