G D Drunks RANT

Thats just f/n crappy, I'm 51 and realize that I'm slowing and my reflexes aren't what they used to be but hitting a senior. I'm at a loss here.
This guy needs to get an aluminum bat across the teeth some night.

Thinking Crawfish and JohnnyT need to play a few games at that place.

JohnnyT told us a story about how playing in a place like that cost him a set of dentures. i think him going to this place wouldn't turn out good for anyone

Bars serve booze.

Boozes causes people who over drink to get drunk.

Bar pay the bills off good customers, and many are drunks, and alcoholics.

Pool players playing pool in bar have to deal with drunks....SAD

Reminds me of me. Just remember to leave the left side of your brain (i.e., speech center) outside of the equation when you are ready to shoot. Don't let them shark you into talking. Just smile and keep chalking your stick until your opponent gets the message that you are not going to shoot until the crap stops. Best to wait forever and let your opponent speak up and tell the offender that the game will not proceed until the crap stops.

Beyond that. Get to know the bartender. Play the music that they like and ask them what's up with the jerks. Even better if the owner or bouncer (if any) is present, get to know them.

Also, who's running the tournament? Talk to them and be nice. If they can't or don't want to control the situation, screw them since they are complicit.

If there are vidio cameras, hope they hit you again and act like you are near death and then call the cops. No bar that I know of wants any police reports. And, any owner that condones this kind of behavior deserves whatever he gets. Hell, set the SOBs up for a trip to the hoosegow and a lawsuit.

Otherwise, as someone else said it's a bar get used to it and don't let it bother you.

This place is actually new and trying to be a family place. But the fact is being new the owner has a big learning curve. The guy running the tournament has never done it before and a month ago I showed him my dry erase tournament board and even offered to make one for a $ 25 bar tab. They butcher one themselves and had about the same money in it. Last night he came to me before the tournament asking about the numbers that were already coming off. I number boards so the Byes are automatic and equal if not 16 or 32 players. But the Bar is located in a bad part of town. The owners have their 3 young sons running around until all hours of the night and the 4 yr old is especially a Spoiled PITA.

The only reason I play there is because my group does since the Monday night Tournament in our town went under. I was the last dog standing after they all left for a long drive home. The Me Win Idiot was a first timer also. I am not sure if the Drunk was his buddy or not but he sure acted like it.

I am soda drink but make darn sure I tip my standard dollar for a dollar drink. I also like to buy my friends beer so I am not a cheap skate and be sure to tip every time. Most places I go already have my Soda ready before I ask.

Monday night is the only night I watch TV "2 1/2 Men" & "Big Bang Theory" which I record. Looks like I will be watching them live now.

The more I think about it, I handled a bad situation wrong. I have a real hatred toward Me Win Idiot. I can get him or he gets himself 99% of the time. But it is this hate that made me lose my cool when the Drunk jumped on the shark also. Hopefully I will learn something from this experience.

I was playing in a bar table 9 ball tournament one night. A friend of the guy I'm playing is sitting watching. The guy misses the four and I step to the table with an easy out. As I'm about to shoot the five, the friend comes off his stool yelling "HOLD IT, HOLD IT!! HAVE YOU GOT HIGHS OR LOWS?" He wouldn't stop yelling, in my face the whole time. The tournament director was a no nonsense guy and told the drunk he'd have to keep quiet or leave. He also told my opponent that he would hold him responsible for the drunk.
About that time, I got sick of playing in that atmosphere. Haven't played in that kind of situation in quite a while.
I just turned 60, I know how ya feel!

Glad that you are Ok

Guys

I got punched in the side of my head as I walked past the Drunk who was talking to someone with his back to me. I was knocked to the ground and kicked because I never saw it coming. But I only have a slight bruise on the side of my head. I wasn't hurt and it wasn't worth all the hassle. I am a small guy so I have been bullied all my life. I thought I had learned to handle bullies. My friends say I have balls of brass. But as I age I guess I need to take a long look at myself or I will keep having these type of problems. Yes age is a big factor. I am set in my ways and don't like BS. I try my best to stay young in mind by hanging out with the younger crowd instead of people my own age.

The thing that bothers me the most is the ME WIN IDIOT won by default when I Hit the Drunk which only reinforces his sharking ways. But the drunk saw it coming and had plenty of chance to back off. But still I admit I was wrong and did not handle the situation well.

Like I said before; stay away from that place & those bums. You could of hit your head on something when you fell. Then what? I totally avoid that kind of stuff b/c I am afriad that if I get started. I will really hurt someone. It has worked most all my life but I have gotten in a few peoples faces. I think they knew deep down that they better let up. We older guys.... LOL need to calm down b/c hurting someone badly could cost us into losing everything that we worked for in our Life time, it's not worth it.
