G2 Cue Tips

These tips look good im.sure they are im going to try a few. A word to the people that all used the kamui blacks. Im just curious as to if they ever used a kamui brown? I think they grip alot better than the black. I know the black sounds better because it costs anlittle more and the description but kamuis originals made their company. Im sure the g2 plays better than a kamui black but a kam brown is hard to beat.

I have a kamui brown on one of my Jackson, and I like it a lot. I have a fearless tip on my Lambros, and its great but perhaps a bit harder than I normally play with.

I bought two of these tips, I'll report back once they are installed.

I see that the tip in your picture looks mushroomed (or mushrooming). I wonder why it looks like that. How long had you been playing with that tip before you took that picture? Thanks.

Actually he is selling tips so i reckon he's in the right place.

Again being a nosy fellow i'll chime in and reply to ya.

Personally i feel G2 have a much better grip than the Kamui. But i could be bias cos importantly i like the nude colour of the G2 tip cos it's easier to see what's the condition of the tip.
If you're using Kamui M i'd recommend you go to G2 M or H. G2 M would be slightly just very slightly softer than Kamui M.

The S and M Tips will mushroom for sure. The S Tip mushrooms faster than the M.
Personally i'll let it settle in a (4 - 8 hours of play) and give it one good shaping and it's good. Never had to shape more than once.

The one i pictured was an S and i only played with it a while, i don't play everyday with one cue or shaft and i alternate between my cues so i'm not sure how long it's been played. But i'm sure it's been shaped already.

have your tip repair guy compressed the medium tip first ( mushroom the tip first ) before installation and shape it. that would last about 3-4 months of 5 hour per day play before it gets mushroom again. go try that method, it works great for me.

hahahahahahahaha!! Great line!!

Seriously now, I don't like pressing my tips, I believe more or less it's possible one can find the type of hardness she/he seeks for.

Every tip needs some time to settle in, and re-shaping it is part of the playing process so I don't consider this a waist of time if I have a tip that I like how it plays.

I haven't tried all tips in the market, I have tried most of the "major" ones.

G2 tips are really great tips, they remind me a lot about the first generation of Moori tips which were the best Moori IMHO.

Great leather quality, good layer structure, even the soft one "keeps together" while it mushrooms, good grasp of chalk/not excessive glazing so less miscues, good feeling upon stroking.

Although choices are subjective to every player, I definately recommend trying them.
