G2 Tips

I tried a G2 soft, and it felt like a marshmallow to me. Now I'm playing with a G2 medium and I love it. I would like to try a Hard next.

For a point of reference, I used to play with LePro, then Moori Med, then Triangle, and now the G2.

The G2 medium may be the best tip, I've tried to date. After weeks of play, it hasn't mushroomed, glazed over, or had any issues. It holds chalk phenomenally, and it has held it shape perfectly.

I think G2 tips are being sold at around $13 a pop?

Have you tried TomHay's tips? I heard they're great. Cant wait to try out both of these.

I've tried G2 soft and I really didn't like it, properly because its soft, but the sound of hit and how it feels was like a sponge to me, and I don't like a tip that feels like a sponge, i had the same exact feeling when I put on a kamui black...

However, my favorite tip is lepro, still to date, nothing beats a good lepro, it feels 100% right for me, the only other tip that I liked was moori medium, so skierlawyer we are somewhat similar to the tip liking hence the lepro and moori medium.... but now I am looking for tip, so I might give G2 Hard a shot, maybe it wont feel like a sponge.

skierlawyer how would you describe the hit sound in comparison to lepro? Does it have the same feel and sound, if not , in what way?

I think G2 is the best tip right now, close to kamui black. I liked the soft one, now I play with hard and it is very, very nice. The main thing is that it plays the same from day 1. You know other tips either need time to break trough or they get harder in time.

I've actually started a thread on this awhile back http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=266888

I've been using G2 for more than half a year now and it is without doubt the best tip I've used to do. I have bought about about 30 G2 tips now and am buying another 40 this week for some friends. Every one that has tried them loved them.

I've not tried the Hard tip but I've tried Medium and Soft. So fair medium gets the most vote from all my friends and it doesn't mushroom, takes chalk well and it's been consistently good.

Personally I like the soft tip better. Many have said it plays spongey, give it some time better yet practice a few(maybe 10-20) sets of straight stop shots and the tip should settle in and you've got yourself a good practice. Yes it does mushroom a little but after shaping it once it never mushrooms again. It takes chalk very well and really does give good English on the CB. The table I have at home is pretty fast so I tend to play with more English to control CB and the soft makes it easy.

When I spoke with the seller it was introduced that G2 S equates to Kamui Black SS to S and G2 M equates to Kamui Black S to M. Hope this info helps.

madfox,

I also like hard tips. Can you compare the G2 H to other hard tips? I am currently testing a Morakami Hard (still breaking in). I like the tip, but it does not yet play as hard as Moori III Quick, Instroke Hard, or Talisman WB Hard (my favorite). All three of those tips have been great. The only hard layered tip I have not liked is Kamui Black Hard. It is too hard to be useful for more than breaking, IMO.

I know that comparisons are difficult. But it you have some perspective to share, it will be appreciated.

You'll do a double back flip when you get one of Toms.Didn't think there was ever a better tip than the old Morris until I hit with the Ultraskin tips.I've never heard of the G2 tip until now.I'll have to check'em out.

PM embassy147. He is selling them.

He is a good guy to deal with. I tried out the Medium G2's and really like them. I have a couple of the Hard G2's to try out next.

I have been using a NOS 314 with the stock LePro on it and absolutley love it. May stick with them from now on!!!
