Gaboon Ebony - coring question

i'm choosing ebony for the butt of my cue, haven't chosen forearm wood yet.
should the ebony be cored? if the answer is yes, i'd like to use something other than maple.
what do you think about this, what do you recommend?

I know you said you dont like laminate or maple. But I use a laminate maple dowel to core Ebony all the time. And for the weight issue it will probably be your best choice... It is also usually very stable...

It has been my experience that once you take a turn on laminated maple dowel, when you come back to it down the road, it is always true. JMO.

You have not provided enough information to answer your question very well. What forearm wood? You state the ebony will be the butt wood but you have not chosen the forearm wood yet. The forearm is part of the butt so do you mean butt sleeve or handle is where the ebony will be? What weight cue are you looking to end up with? Does the cue have a wrap? Balance? What size ferrule? Joint pin? And why would you not favor a laminated core?
