Come on Kevin...Im keeping this lighthearted....of course it wasnt called a "blog" it was a column...but what is a blog....but a web column....and no he didnt publish anonymously...but wasnt like people that disagreed with him had thier own newspaper to publish a instant response disagreeing...

Do I like character assassination? No. Do I like the mighty anonymous doing so? No. Search my posts I am adamantly against using such tatics. Do I think that this falls into that category? No. Do you? Obviously yes.

Do I think we can agree to disagree? I would hope so. I certainly respect your right to your opinion. Do I think because it is your opinion it is right? Well obviously some of what you say I agree with...some I dont...Do I think either of us have the right to be the deciding factor in what the world thinks? No..but thats the beauty of the world...people question...people disagree...people may even learn...good may come of it....harm may come of it..but change comes from it be it good or bad and change is life

Discourse brings things to light....discourse makes people think...

Superstar, I'm sorry but I can't agree with you here. In fact, if you give it some thought, even you couldn't agree with you here. People have their speech limited ALL THE TIME. It's a fact of life. The WPBA is not government. It's a private organization, just like a company. Now, I know if I went around the blogs and started posting what my company planned on doing, I'd be fired on the spot. In other occupations like trading, insider discussion can not only get you fired, it can land you in jail.

If this gag order exists, the WPBA has made the determination that participating in forums/blogs is detrimental to their cause. THEIR leaders have decided that THEY, as a group, should refrain from participating in these discussions. If a person chooses to act outside of the wishes of the group, as a private organization, they have the right to expel that member. Their right to free speech, as a citizen of the United States, was always protected by the Constitution of the United States. However, their membership to the WPBA is NOT a protected right.

Just as everyone is a memeber here, but there are rules as to what you can say and do on this site. You have the right of free speech, just as the mods have the right to remove you as a member here as a result of you using your free speech in a way that violates the forum rules. In this case you AT NO TIME lost your freedom of speech, but at the same time there are consequences for you actions, and how you choose to behave.

You can use your right of free speech to act like an a$$ and insult your wife and her family at a nice family function, BUT then she may use her right to let you sleep on the couch!

It is possible that many people are using their best judgement and keeping things to themselves that really is not anyone else's business anyways. Could it be possible that some may just see the benefit of not rocking the boat for no gain? I know there are many things that I think during my workday that I CHOOSE not to make known, because I know no good will come from it. Should I call a lawyer too?

Superstar, it seems to me like you def have a personal issue with the president and are trying to latch on anything to make him look bad. You have moved goalposts already and I bet there is more to come. At first it was implied that no one in the WPBA was allowed to post on any blog or forum, then 2 have posted here already, now maybe it was just some that were told, and now that is worse, etc, etc.

I have yet to see much that makes this some sort of earth shattering hush conspiracy that will make a great insider informant tell all book or movie, but keep up the good fight if you must! I know I will sleep better tonight knowing you are on the case.


Oh and BTW I have proof of a much bigger conspiracy involving the NBA! And I will offer the proof on not a single response from anyone who plays in the NBA in this thread! I am waiting michael Jordan....... your silence is deafening! I demand answers as an anonymous internet poster who has no bearing on you or your livelihood. You owe me an explanantion. Otherwise the vast corruption will be made plain for all to see!



Needless to say, I feel you are stretching a bit, far reaching, and puting a negative spin on what little bit you have in the first place.

Somewhere I missed the whole point of this. What is potentially so bad that it has to be kept a secret? What is you exact accusation? What is being covered up again?

To answer the question that you answered for me (thanks so much), yes this looked to me (from the beginning) to be 2 anonymous people doing a hatchet job on John Rousseau. It seemed to me that both used innuendo and rumor in order to stir the pot against John and it seemed to me (knowing AZ) that they would be successful (at least in the stirring, negative threads do so well here).

If this happened to you you'd be squealing like a stuck pig (rightfully so).

As far as you turning some antique newspaper into a a blog, I try to avoid those stretches and there have been some great historical events that were promoted by rumor and innuendo and I'll refrain from likening this instance to those.

Do you know what "push-polling" is?

Before anyone jumps all over me- As soon as I posted this, I kept reading and see all of the evidence that is corabborated with others as there being something obviously going on. I admit that it is newsworthy and out of the norm, though maybe not as earthshattering as was originally put forth.

I posted my comments as to how I was feeling about someone just going a bit far based (at the time) solely on rumors. The fact that they turn out to be tru does not really chang my opinion too much. I still do not feel that an army of lawyers should be called to defend freedom of speech.

I was reacting to the grandstanding done without verification.

I do not wish to delete or edit my original post. I will add to it though. I will concede that there is obviously some verification of the OP position. I just felt he was going off the deep end a bit, and was trying to reign it in a bit.

Actually, I was just making the point that anonymous reporting of events has it's place in society.

The reason I use events like the American Revolution is because IF the pamphleteers were known then they would have been silenced.

Rumor is part of everyday life. Every one of us is guilty of "spreading rumors" in our lives. All of us have at one time or another passed on a story even if we didn't know if it was true or not.

Whether that's the "old wives tale" that no one bothers to verify or the juicy gossip about the women's tour we have all done this at one time or another.

Sometimes it's harmful and malicious, sometimes it's harmless.

The thing is that it's the content that is important. Is the information true and if so what does it matter?

The real problem as I see it is that people want to jump on others for DISCLOSING information. Some here seek to control others and tell them what they can and can't disclose. In fact, anyone is free to say whatever they want to whether they should or not.

Sure it's in poor taste to betray people's confidences. The world would have kept turning if we didn't have this stuff to discuss. But the fact is that once the information is given to another person then that person might betray the confidence damn the consequences.

SuperStar repeated what he read on another person's blog and provided a link. That's the sort of thing that engenders discussion and the free flow of information from that point. He deserves no condemnation for providing a link to something already out there.

At least this is how I see it.

I must be missing something here. How can you say that the rumors turned out to be true?

It seems the ladies may have been told to watch what they say. That is not bad advise for the members of any organization in the public eye, especially considering how statements get twisted in the press and on these forums. However, that is not exactly a gag order.
