Galveston Team Payout

That's a great way to make sure these promoters NEVER host another event EVER! That's the problem with alot of people today. Don't like what someone says? Sue. Didn't get what you think is coming to you? Sue! Spill coffee on yourself and are surprised that it's hot? Sue! good grief. I say enough of the lawer talk. It's not like they had 500 teams and still cut things short. These guys are already taking a beating on this event. I say cut them a little slack for their efforts. Perhaps next year enough teams will participate to cover a payout like that. Just my . 02

I have never sued anyone over anything. I have also never been sued by anyone for anything. There are way too many lawyers in the world, but at times they have a purpose.

If I ran an event and I promised a 50K first prize, I guarantee that first place team would get 50K. It wouldn't matter if I was taking a beating on other events or not or whether there was one team or a thousand.

I believe a mans word is important and if someone promises me something and doesn't deliver I will not let it go and walk away.

I suppose with your line of thinking the IPT should of never had to pay all of people who won money in their tournaments. They lost money and I suppose as long as they paid out all they had in the bank the players should be happy with what they get.

Next we will see people advertising a tournament with 1,000,000 prizes for each event, subject to change.

A truer post has never been written here John! The whole problem with professional pool IMO is that there has never been an atstute business man like yourself that believes in honor, integrity, and that a mans word means something to run the show.... Until someone like that, or a constortium of like minded people come to the forefront, pool will continue on the same path, nowhere!

When and if someone like that comes along, the players need to be ready to act with honor and integrity as well. It wasnt too long ago, if memory serves correctly, that a large company not affiliated with pool tried to get involved. At the first tourney some of the biggest names (draws) decided to walk out cause they thought they had better things to do.

It takes the right moves from top to bottom to make something really take off. Granted if someone was able to get something up and running you could say the players would turn around. But most of the people with the brains AND the money arent going to wait for that to happen.
