Galveston world classic-- $$$$$ payouts

They need to look at the percentage from 9-12th to 7-8th to 5-6th on the womens 9-ball pay out.

9-12th= 2%; 7-8th= 4%; 5-6th= 4.9%, only .9% increase from 7-8th.

I haven't taken a calculator to the payouts but the money added does increase with increased player participation and the "place" payouts do increase pretty much the same. Percentages don't necessarily reflect this accurately. Looks fair to me at first glance.

If you look at some of the scenarios, the added money is incredible.
Since he left a comment about payouts on the website, this answer will probably have Jose Parica packing his bags. :D

Now that they've posted something I think lots of people will be packing bags. They don't show the payouts for everything.....maybe they should post a note that similar entry fee events will have similar/same payout.

Oopps just reread and they do sort of allude to payments being similar and the actual posted payouts being MINIMUM.....as in can go HIGHER.

Just saying the money jump from 9-12th to 7-8th is $1024. the jump from 7-8th to 5-6th is $460. the pay out should move up the same or more, but not less.

Probably something to do with going up from a four way split to two way with the 9-12 to 7-8, and the 7-8 to 5-6 remaining a two way split. Likely overlooked the fact they could spread it out more.

PRESS RELEASE:

(Las Vegas, Nv) At the BCA Trade Show this week I heard from a VERY RELIABLE, VERY WELL KNOWN source that this tournamnet is going to be great, its the real deal and then some, I was told. The person who told me is not one of the promoters so its even more crediable, I cant say who or what I was told as it was confidential, but this is going to be a dandy and I'm going to be there. There might be some mistakes made, but the $$$ is up and their intent is long term, So any mistakes will be corrected before the tournment or the 2nd for sure. Dont shoot the messanger I'm repeting what I was told by a very well connected pool industry person(who is well respected by everyone(far as I know), not a player or promoter FYI) I cant say who told me I wish I could but cant and wont, Afterwards I will ask for permission to reveal my source of info.

I have heard good things from a couple others but they didnt have the information or credentials as the person I spoke to last week, so I didnt say anything until the approiate time. I sure do hope it becomes a annual event.

your man in the field, <--------------yeah right:rolleyes:

Thanks Eric. I'm hoping to be able to get away.

I am really glad that this tournament is taking shape. Like I said before, I will be there to support it 100%. Let's everyone pack their bags and head to Texas, where everything is BIG!!!:thumbup:

Awesome!!

I too am soooo glad it is taking shape!!

I will be playing in either the amateur 8ball or 9ball, I haven't decided yet. I think it's cool that they are helping to promote league play by requiring league membership. Wait a minute!!!!! I'm not a league member right now! I wonder if there is still time to join one?

Seems like they just said something about June first but maybe I am mistaken and it was July first. Better get on this one Ray!

Hu

Edit: This is what I remembered:

"WOMEN TEAM STARTS ON THE WEDNESDAY, 16TH AT 3PM. HAVE TO BE A MEMBER OF A LEAGUE AS OF JUNE 1ST..."

Pretty sure you don't qualify for that event anyway. I don't know the rule concerning the men's events.

HU,

I just went back and read their website again. The league member requirement appears to only apply to "team" play. Which kills my team plan. :(

Oh well.......I think I'll ask for a clarification on their website!

looks like jose parica is interested. he posted a comment on the bottom. i want to know what pros have bought in, im more interested in going to watch then anything

Women's 9 ball 256 players.

Papa Red,
According to what I am reading, 7-8 each get $2048.00 EACH.
9-12th (4 people) get $1024 EACH. THIS is for 256 players.

I may have it wrong but that's what I read. Somebody proof read that for me.

Thanks,

JoeyA

Yes Joey that's right. All Papa Red is saying is when they went from 128 to 256 and put the added $ they should have made each increase the same or larger. I figure they started on the 128 with the payout a little top heavy and when they went to 256 they decided to spread the increased money a bit heavier towards the lower finishers.

I have to say I'm impressed with the exchange of information happening on the site right now. A few days ago, I wasn't thinking of entering any of the events, but after seeing the changes at the site, (Including a chat room) I'm beginning to reconsider. lol

It's really great to see the momentum pick up! Please pass the koolaid! :D

The best is YET TO COME.
