Galveston World Classic

I agree Punter, but this one was ill fated from the get go. There is more to this story than meets the eye. I will send you a PM.

After reading Jay's Pm, I would like to apologize to him. As I said, I don't know the promoters of this event, so if the facts are as Jay stated, then I can understand the reaction.

You know what punter? Jay may say it, but the truth is the majority of us out here aren't about saying, "See, I told you so!" The real truth is that we're sad that ANOTHER "big money" event didn't work out to the point that it can't be repeated. Pool needs all the opportunities that can be drawn from. But without a successful model to build something on, it's hard to pull things off.

It appears that the promotors had in the words of my late father " they got more money than they got sense".
If I wanted to start a business (or run a tourney), I would seek advise and counsel from someone with a proven track record before jumping into the water head first, only to find the water is over my head, and an anchor is tied around my ankle.
A big ego is usually a person's undoing. I love playing those guys with big egos that think they are two balls better than they actuall are!
