I wanna hear about the wildest, craziest, dumbest spot you ever gave up just to get some action? I get near a table and can't get a bet I start tryin to give up dumb spots just to play....

Have you ever thought of asking someone to play for 'play'? Then you wouldnt have to come up with a ridiculous spot.

If you MUST gamble somebody, why not play somebody that will give up some weight to you? Challenge yourself by playing better players instead of looking for a quick buck off an easy mark.

Oh, by the way, the biggest spot i ever gave up is a 10-5 race with the last 3 on the table. Not the smartest spot.....

I beat a guy in a bar for $3250.... got up on him some money with dumb "trick shots" on the table and then we started playing 9 ball for $150 a rack and I gave him the 5 ball and he was just racking up the bill.... he was a fence contractor and finally threw in the towel and he gave me $150cash, bought me a shot and put up an all new vinyl fence job for my house! Hey I got "paid" :D

This might sound familar to you Chris as we were both there::
I watched a low D player give the 7 out and breaks for $2 to a even lower D player ended up playing for $20 a rack was $160 down and wound up losing $100 only to air gun the even lower D and that was over 2 years ago winner still hasnt been paid...........

I think the most I ever gave was the 6 out (win on 6-7-8-9)in 9 ball.
In 14.1 maybe 100 to 35 against very raw players.
The biggest I have ever seen was a shortstop in NJ giving a b player any ball he made in 9 ball he won.
The shortstop played a ton of safes and won the cash.

When I owned my pool room I played a young, big mouth high D/low C some 9 Ball after listening to him chirping all afternoon. All he had to do was legally get the 9 to the back rail, even on the break. I beat him 3 out of four sets. I only made $40, but the look on his face and the treatment he got from his buddies was just beyond priceless!

Ha... It started out the 7 out ended up the 6 out and break... But if I do recal the lower D player has never played anyone even unless they was like 14 years old....

I played a guy one handed last night and won 140 in a bar in east ellijay...

I once gave someone 40-4 in 1P...and won.

To be fair, the kid could barely play pool, much less 1P, but he wanted to play the game because he thought it was interesting.

We played for fun, and just one game, but the spot was so outrageous people actually watched!

Sorry, I know it was supposed to be a post about a spot for action, but we had some good times during that little match, and a lot of laughs.

I have seen this spot a few times in 9 ball-probably 4 or 5 times in the last 25 years, but I never seen it out run, I have seen the stronger player win a few sets but lose the session.

Here is the spot: All the weaker the weaker player has to do to win the rack is make a legal hit and drive the lowest OB to a rail. The one ball on the break dosent count. Winner breaks, 9 on the break counts.

I have seen strong players out run this spot for a set, but never a session. With winner breaks,

Now I have seen this spot out run by the stronger player: Stronger player gets all the breaks, and the weak player has to drive the lowest ball to the rail on a legal hit, I have seen that out run on big pockets years ago because the strong player could run packages. But if the strong player dosent make a ball on the break he loses almost every game, so the break is triple important in this case.

I dont think it could be out run in 10 ball, not even with SVB's break. But with a great break, huge pockets, and a real weak player, it can be won in 9 ball, not 6,10 ball because the break is to much to fade. I seen that one time-2 sets as I recall, it was years ago in Sacramento In believe, Great American billiards. I cant remember the players.

I dont play near this speed to ever give up this spot Wish I did.

Honestly, I would play ANYONE with this spot. There isn't a safety out there that I don't have at least a chance of getting contact and to a rail on. The person would have to just run out game after game. Any slump would destroy them, heh. I can see why winner breaks would be the killer in this bet... I would be tempted to split it somehow to make it more even ... every other time I won my opponent gets the break instead. :)

yea well since were getting into a pissing contest

i remember a time when you played billy for ten a game and when it came down to you loosing a hundred and something u paid him a dollar and something an told him you were playing ten cents a game and u wanna talk about air gunning ...
Who's pissing?Dont take it so hard dude!
this was a teaching tool he knew I dont gamble anymore and asked me to play for 5 he didnt say 5 what?????and it was 60 and I gave him a dollar and asked for change!I even dropped hints all along about playing for ''change''He now knows better and will ask someone to play for $5 not just 5 it took me 3-4 weeks to set that up and he will tell you today its the best lesson he has ever learned well worth thinking he was playing for $5 only to end up playing for $.05 and I did pay up!!!!!!!!!same thing happened to me when I was young and I was just passing along the same experience! sometimes in life you have to be shown the right way not told the right way.....I have never wanted action bad enough to give the nutz to anyone played in some nutty ways but never gave up the nutz

your Right billy did need to learn that...

And I'll tell you why les didn't get payed. When we went to $20 A game I was down $180 at $5... Me and les made a deal we would play til closing or til I quit. (The spot was 6 out, last 3 and breaks) I won 4 games in a roll and he quit... I had $400 on me that night. He told every one we broke even that night... I told him i would pay him the next friday when we started back playing... But he want play me anymore

A few months back he popped off to me in there about gamlbing... said he should beat my ass, and me and him almost got in a fight... I told him to kick rocks and cry, and if he wanted to fight then don't be scared just jump...

I know thats shitty to do someone that way but he shouldn't have made the deal then quit... You have to say your self when has he ever played someone with even that wasn't a 15 year old kid?????

Gave up ALL THE BALLS playing nine-ball-just make one. three times to two different players, and won. Race to 5.

Played partners style, them two against me - Every other shot I used the joint pin as the tip - Just the butt of the cue.

Played one pocket I gotta make all 8 in one inning, or they spot up.

Played 8 ball where the cueball cant touch a rail/1 shot foul.

A guy asked me to play him for a dollar, I didn't want to because he never plays straight/fair and makes up rules as he goes...but the guy needed a good ass kicking to shut him up.
