you guys/girls are so knowledgable! Proud to be a member! What are the most prestigeous pool events in order and why!!??

The Derby City All-Around Title is unique, and in my mind is the most prestigious among players and railbirds. I'm not aware of any other tournaments; do they have others:confused:  ???

The Coed Naked Nine-Ball Classic gets all of my respect!

Unfortunately, my membership contract forbids me to share its location. ;)

They are trying to make Derby City like the new Johnson City. Do you think they have accomplished this yet?

Harve,
In many ways, according to several players who have participated in both, they have greatly exceeded Johnson City. Though Johnson City was a somewhat unknown competition before the Sports Illustrated articles (and as such had a little mystique that DCC will never have), it was fairly well known after that. I am sure that Derby City has more player participation, fan interest, and maybe even side action than Johnson City. After a few years, action at Johnson City was a little difficult to obtain because all of the sharpsters had figured out everyone's speed.

2006 DCC stats
400+ players for Banks
400+ players for One Pocket
400+ players for 9 Ball

I remember the first year when the fields were limited to 256 players.

World Pool Championship
Us Open
All Japan Open

Sorry, I gotta include every IPT stop in there as prestigious, (with the possible exception of the MS/LJJ match) to win. Forget about the money, can you imagine what a thrill it would be to win against so many great players?

And also, the WPBA stops.

No problem-Good points-I just feel you cant gain "instant prestige". Maybe next year for the IPT events. They certainly are winning me over.

As far as the WPBA, all their events are identical for the most part- the BCA if you count that as WPBA is the exception and part of my list. JMHO.

Yes- Just look at the list of the WPC winners-not a fluke in the bunch unlike the US open and even the DCC. No names but im sure you can spot them.
