Ok so I guess I hijacked someones thread, and then fixed it by starting my own thread.. Now im receiving negative rep every 10 minutes.

The thread happens to be a sticky titled escrow escrow escrow and I posted that I was willing to offer the same service. My understanding was that this was a post to allow users to offer escrow services, as it is a sticky.

Should this merchant service thread only be available from one user on az?
was I wrong in posting my own escrow services on this thread

Anyone else see any problem with this
 
as long as the thread is a sticky for escrow services, anyone should be able to offer that service in that thread.

If it wasn't a sticky, I can understand why people are getting upset about it...
 
If it was a regular thread then he would be out of line, but in this case with it being a sticky, you have to let him post, it's only fair. Either that or he should also get his own sticky thread, and I really don't think we want a sticky thread for every person that offers escrow do we?

EXACTLY!

That thread is for all to post there escrow services not just one person (Its a sticky at the top of wanted/for sale)

My question is how does he deserve to perminately(semi) be posted to the top of the page with his merchant services, and not me, or anyone else

Neil, fine and dandy.. but when it comes to me having a shop next door to his and posting that I offer the same service.. and then have him and his stooges come over telling me to get out of town threatening me (Neg feedback, Pms etc.)

Should a monopoly of this service be allowed

That would be a sticky.

I also think if it's stickied then anyone offering the service should be able to offer it UNLESS stated otherwise, which it is not. It's always nice to have more than one option. I think the negative rep and all that is a bit much. I think he deserves positive if anything for trying to help out the members here. If he over stepped his bounds I'm fairly sure a simple "Hey would you mind not doing that" would had been enough. He seems like a nice enough guy to where he would have understood and kindly removed his posts from that thread.

I agree the red rep was unnecessary. And I agree with the point you made. But, I feel it was a knee-jerk reaction by some posters. So many have been ripped off that when a new guy offers this service, despite your credentials, it just doesn't look right to some. Unless you have a known name in pool, I would guess that your chances of an escrow service on here would be very low. You have to build up a good reputation here first.

But, I do commend you on the effort. It was a good move to want to help on here, and for that you should be commended. I just think it is bad timing right now. And if anyone did actually threaten you, then let the mods deal with that.
 
I understand that completely, I simply wanted to get my name on one of the first pages so for visibility purposes(and later use). I am not well known in the industry but I know the industry well.

I was introduced to alot of it through John Stich(I think thats how you spell it).
He is a regular at Shooters in the twin cities and as I understand it, the orriginal creator of AZbilliards.

I don't think he had anything to do with AZBilliards, but he did start Chalktalk, which became MNBilliards. I could be wrong though.

Yep that was it.. he said something about being able to hook me up with some ads on AZ for cheap though
Mighta been stef that told me he started az .. thinking chalk talk

Hey, I replied to your post as being in poor taste. I never sent a pm or red rep.

I did see it as a move to undercut. I did not pay attention to the sticky part of the thread.

I also was not aware of the policy or understanding of the nature of the stickies.

I am sorry if I made an assumption in error.
