Starting to draw up plans to convert a 2 car garage into a pool room. Any ideas or pics would be great. There isn't a room big enough in the house so I'm going garage style...

i have a really shallow 2 car garage that isn't big enough for my little bar table :/

From what I understand from Brunswick you need about 10 feet more that the table for a full stroke, standard cue, from the rail. Now if that's the case, shouldn't need more than a 18 x 20. I think the garage maybe a little bigger... I hope. Lol. Haven't measured but I am obsessing of having it set up

i have a two car garage, still have enough room for the mrs to park her car. installed a mitsubishi mini split hvac ductless system, it works great.

its just a standard 24x20 two car garage.
the snooker table is 9'.
plenty of room for our "good" car (meaning my wife's) and the table, i just have to back it out onto the driveway to play.

i grew up playing mostly on a 10' snooker table my old man had in his shop and several years ago, i had a barbox in my garage at a previous residence. for me, the most critical thing for having a table in a shop/garage is putting in the extra time and money for reliable heat and air conditioning. the table just wont play right when its 90 degrees with outrageous humidity.......

I dig the set up. I'm out in Arizona so its usually always absent of humidity but usually always hot so I want to get the climate right. I think I might just insulate the garage door too and keep it closed. My car isn't anything special and my fiance drives a truck so she doesn't really care about garage space.

You have full swing from the rails on the table set up in that direction?

I have an 8-foot now but considering upgrading to a 9-foot... Decisions decisions... Lol

I have a one car cinderblock unattached. Unheated, one electric outlet. My little bar table almost fits. Its a little chilly in the Colorado winter. Kind of a throw back to when our parents had to walk up hill both ways in the snow barefoot to get to school. But I've hit alot of balls on it year round

Celophanewrap, that is the almost exact description of the first room I had too in northern California. The winters were a brutal beast lol!

Gerry.... My goodness that garage turned pro tourney modified miniature pool hall is the shizz... I wish the garage was bigger and I was a little more handy! Lol!

All of them were truly amazing conversions.

A couple of Christmases ago, my wife bought me a little pool table. Just as a joke present but it is actually a well made table. Came with 2 sneakies.

It was just a fun thing to keep us amused for the day.

With 2 Harleys and wood working tools in the garage, I barely have room to turn around in.

If it weren't -40 with the wind chill today, I was going to take the little table out and set it on the floor and get a couple of pics for ya. Be about the closest I ever come to a garage pool hall.

Nothing too special here. Just got an 8 foot THEA table out in the garage. Got a great deal on it, but now that I've been playing a while I'm going to try to pick up a 9' gold crown or diamond and maybe insulate and put some heat out there. I live in the Seattle area so it's pretty temperate and not much humidity. My little space heater does a decent job in winter and summer it's rarely gets over 75. I put in a lot of hours of practice out there.

I'd still love to see the set up! lol!

I did the search on here and found the one guy in Texas that built a room in his back yard with the 2 tables and the full bar, I was amazed...

I also found the post your room thread and saw a lot of rooms and few garage set ups, I was just fishing for ideas. I am actually interested in 2 car garage conversions and a space comparison. Width depth and see what the look like from all angles. I have a pretty good idea of what I'm going to do, but any other input would be great.

I've gotten rid of all the toys (Harleys, hot rods, muscle cars and so on), so I can use the garage in good faith that it'll be just for the table room.

And yes, please when you can post your garage room too!

Also I saw your shovel head in another thread. That and your twin cam are some nice looking bikes. :)

Hey tsunami, I like the carpet and tv for the added touch. This is the beginning direction I'm going. I want to keep myself off the solid pavement due to bad knees and since I'll be out there a lot, I'd like to be somewhat comfortable.

I was actually thinking laying down carpet, not nailed down or anything, situating the table, then adding some of that rubber matting under the carpet (not under the table) for comfort.

I want to put in a few spectator chairs and some small wall counters like 8-9 inches for drinks and a place for people to set up their q-claws when they come play.

A flat screen would be good for instructional dvds too. I'm not too into the loud music thing so a small stereo and maybe a few posters. Nothing more than what's needed to play and practice well.

Is that a 9-foot?! That would be the upgrade totally worth the investment. I'd love a 9-foot table. I could fit it.... Hmmmmmmmmm

Nice room!

I am almost done. I moved into this home that had the garage already converted into a dark green dungeon (yuck). They chose to build it where the front of the house still has a dual garage door look. One of the garage doors still opens up and there is a storage area for yard tools etc. I elected to keep that since I was not concerned about having a bunch of people over and didnt need the space--hence the bulkhead you can see in the photos. My garage is just over 19x20 however the finished room is 19x16.5. I plan on finishing a closet in the corner at some point. I chose carpet untacked to have something down but not a major expense and I dont have to worry about spills etc.

Setup works for my needs and can be used as a room or very easily back into a garage if needed for resale. Now just to find time to use it.

Nice Perk! I noticed there are tiles(?) Under the feet of the table? Do those help the table stay level?

Also I see you are an APA 5, 8 ball or 9 ball? :)

Here's mine. My house was built in 1930 and the detached garage is only 18'x18' which requires a short cue for rail shots off the short rails of my 9 footer. Those shots don't come up too often and it sure beats paying table time!
