Anyone have a guesstimate of what an 80's vintage gold crown carom table would weigh? Slate thickness?

thanks,
Jamie

Table

Carom Table->1459 lbs
1 1/2 thick slate. 3 pieces
/\ it's been awhile' I could be off about the slate thickness because the sandstone was around then too. The last one I wrestled was real slate and very heavy!

We used to have 2 of them in the pool room I grew up in and I don't recall them feeling any different than the pocketed GCs.

In fact, as I recall the pocket cutouts were tucked under the cushions.

Not that I know how much a GC weighs, but I would think they are the ~same.

Table

The GC carom&snooká table have thicker slate and are 10' tables'
-the 9' GC is 1170lbs give or take
-
-outside dementions of 10'GC is 5'9.1/4"x10'5.1/4"
I don't recall the 10' offered as a GC III... I think the dementions changed from the GCII to the GCIII

Jamie I know you're looking. This one isn't what you want no matter how thick the slate is. Gold Crowns make terrible 3C tables. Go to any major University and you can likely find one to try out if you have time to waste. There aweful!

Thanks for the help guys! BTW nothing wrong with a GC carom table, if it's got decent rubber and kept clean.

Rob,

I could be wrong but I think you mean "soapstone" rather than "sandstone".
