GC I leg levelers

There is a nice GCI in the for sale section. In the description, he writes:

Leg levelers had been added to assist with table leveling. The original had the fixed legs. I still have them if needed.

What does that mean?

Did the GCI not have a fixed threaded collar up inside the legs to allow adjustment of the feet via a threaded rod?

How are the GCI and GCII feet different as far as adjustment goes?

I'm assuming he isn't talking about the 'lazy susan' levelers.

I'm not familiar with the GCI feet/leg attachment design.

thanks

The earlier GC1 didn't have any leg leveling adjustment.
The foot castings only had holes drilled for wood screws.

Levelers

Hello

Sorry for hijacking the thread but I purchased GC1 yesterday and pick it up next week.

Is the level system a must have for the GC1?

The table does not have the levelers from what I can tell.

Thank you for your help

Richard

You can level the table easily using shims.
Put shims between the frame and the legs.
After the frame, shim up all 3 slate edges.

Not necessary but the easiest way to level the table. If the foundation ever shifts or has to settle into carpet, it's the easiest way to make small adjustments.

Gc 1 levelers

Thank you all for the input.

What is the going market price for the set these days?

With no leg levelers, shim between the legs and frame until level.
Small adjustments aren't easy after the legs are bolted and the 3
slates are screwed down. Shims could be placed under the feet if
you think that further adjustments may be required in the future.

I was refering to the small adjustments being easier WITH the leveling system in place. Leveling system is not necessary but easier to work with. :)
