The matte black is the best.4 is way better IMO. The pockets sticking up a mile on the older tables get annoying after a while. The formica grain is prettier on the 4 as well.
Strong agree! I wish one was available when I found my GC4.The matte black is the best.
Yeah, I'm going to do some testing possibly by taping cardboard to my existing table to make 50"x100" play surface and see
What you just did with the math has an official name in sales. It's called "reduction to the ridiculous". When it's taken downStop right there.
Turn around and extract your cranium from your anus.
Now, get that moldy money out ‘yet pocket and buy the table.
1500 dollars? Let’s be generous and say it costs double that to get set up, even though it’s n your home town.
You’re in for 3 grand. After three years that table has cost you LESS than a dollar an hour.
How many balls can I hit in 3,000 hours? Must be well on the way to a HAMBurger. Sign me up.
fyi…Buy what fits. Just curious, what's an oversized 8ft? I would think it's 8 ft or not an 8 ft? did they make an 8 1/2 ft ?
thank you, that explains itfyi…
Playing surface (cushion nose to nose in inches)…
8ft 44x88
8ft OS 46x92
9ft 50x100
Diamond's 8ft is 45x90 so kind of 'tweener size.thank you, that explains it
Agreed. But all homes and rooms aren't created equal. If the only available area or room is too short or too narrow on a wall or two that requires a sawed-off midget cue and smaller table, ya gotta take what you can get. (without any biatching from the wife to be used for something else) Sometimes basements aren't exactly level either.9' or nothing for me.
For me its 9' or bust, but I wouldn't turn away an os 8' if it kept me from having and short sticks.I just put a GC 4 oversized in my garage and absolutely love it. In our area there is a mixed bag between 9' GC's and 8' Diamonds, hardly any bar boxes. I had the room to do a 9 but opted for the oversized 8. On the referral of RKC I got the best mechanic in my area and had him "Diamondize" my GC with different pocket angles and 4 1/8" pockets and it plays AMAZING.....humbling to play on but it does play nice.
I hear ya. I just wanted to make sure my room was big enough to not have to use any short sticks. I've now confirmed that so I can move ahead with a 9 footer.Stop right there.

Would be nice but might be a long time till a GC4 pops up. I'm kind of impatient.I would hold out for a GC4. I hate the raised lips on the GC1-3, that’s probably the main reason that keeps me from buying an Anniversary table.
Several days ago I saw a GC4 for $2000.Would be nice but might be a long time till a GC4 pops up. I'm kind of impatient.![]()
great table and great room too!I'm tight on the ends but have a shorty cue that maybe gets used on 5% of the shots.
