You have to watch for sales.... they are only $10 once or twice a year............ I have 4 of them and can only find 2 or 3 or any given time... LOL

They are very accurate and all read the same as my Mitutoyo set.....

They come with a spare battery.

regardless of how simple the question or answer, there will always be someone who is not willing to point you in the right direction. ( note: i did not say give the answer). some just want their knowledge to be theirs. Always try your best, those who are willing to help will help were they can.

You never fail, just learn and start over :)
 
As I am relatively new to cue making, I am lucky to have a talented teacher. In learning the many different procedures and increasing my understanding of the art, my best advice would be to take your time. It's not a race. With over 25 years of woodworking experience I would suggest that safety is job one. Good luck!
 
The first thing I think I realized when I started to learn the process of creating a quality product is... It's not a race. Every step seems to require a period of time of rest, JMO...

Creating shafts with solid material that isn't aged properly and your looking for problems.
Letting shaft wood rest after taking the cuts nearing size is a good idea.
Strong adhesion comes from allowing proper curing time at appropriate temperatures.
Don't rush the process of finishing. Let the applied product breath and give up the volatile fumes inherent in some finishes.

Don't be afraid to say NO. - If you accommodate a ridiculous request when making a cue for someone it can make you look bad in the end because your name is on it.

Amem to this ↑↑ as I had it happen once long long ago. Stick to your guns and over time you will know what is reasonable and what is not.
