14Th Street George was my dear friend and teacher for 10 years at Chelsea.
Aside from pool he lover to go fishing in Coney Island on the pier.
Unfortunately he had a drinking problem.
I will post a copy of "His Book" as soon as I find it in my storage room.

As well as George Mikula played (he ran over 300 at straight pool), to many New Yorkers he's better known as George "Ginky" San Souci's mentor. Ginky thought the world of him.

there was a NYC 3 cushion open approx 1975 - 76 and he won it . I understand he played snooker very well.

I remember George M. from Julians on 14th street, although a straight pool affectionado, he played everything exceptionally well. Aside from regular pocket billiard tables, Julians had snooker and 3 cushion tables.

Years later I met an elderly gentleman named Monty Hecht, AKA Trick Shot Monty, who knew George well..he told me of a rare 3 cushion tournament that George played in... told me that George ran a twelve.

Wow! I haven't heard Monty's name mentioned for 25 years. Remember him well.

I took a 14.1 lesson from George at Chelsea about 30 yers ago- I still remember most of that lesson- he certainly was a wealth of knowledge on the game. He talked a lot about looking for dead balls in the remaining stack after each break shot, knowing all the options on the table, and the importance of many things that you don't want to do when playing 14.1.
