I was there during the entire match in Orlando. In fact, I was sitting directly behind Earl's chair. During the match, he was talking alot, but he wasn't saying too much to her I don't think. However, I do remember him commenting to me that he thought everyone seemed to catch a gear when they play him and he didn't understand why. Gerda smiled at him and said, "It's because we all want to beat you more." Priceless.
When it became clear that Gerda had a real chance to win the hill-hill game, the majority of the crowd was clearly rooting for her not him. After the match, he was being interviewed by the cameras around the table and he made the comment for the cameras that he thought that the women were better than the men at 8-ball. I remember this distinctly.
