So does anyone know any of the details of what happened between Gerda and Earl?
If I see you on a Wednesday, I'll tell you the nitty gritty details, but to make a long story short, here's what happened.
During the players' meeting at the KOTH in Orlando, there was a brief intermission, and the smokers went outside to catch a few puffs. Earl, Gerda, and quite a few players were mingling and shooting the breeze.
Now, Earl has never been a fan of the ladies shooting on the men's tour, and he's been pretty vocal about it from time to time. Somehow or another, Gerda happened to be standing next to Earl, and the topic of the ladies playing on the IPT was brought forth.
Earl, true to his blessed opinions about the ladies playing on the men's tour, made a comment to Gerda that he thought the ladies should stick to the B------- Congress of America and leave the IPT tour be. Gerda was very gracious and didn't utter a negative word.
Several days later, as luck would have it, Gerda and Earl faced off during the round robin phase of the event, and all eyes were on their table. The crowd got thicker and thicker as the match progressed, and tension was in the air. When the dust settled, Gerda scored herself a mighty win.
The cameras zeroed in on poor old Earl, hoping to get a comment from him after this loss, but Earl had other things on his mind as gathered up his belongings and bolted for the exit. The production crew followed him like the Pied Piper all the way out into the hallway. Earl eventually did speak a few words to the camera people, and I think, subject to check, that the promo piece on the IPT website is that interview, immediately after Earl lost to Gerda.
