GIN ACTION FOR $$$, Now available in the VbChat room. Ask Me How!

Your Correct - I'll wait.

AceHigh said:
Yes I will eventually set-up a paypal account. I'm in between jobs right now, and extremely tight with my budget. I'm sure that OHB can wait, obviously he plays Gin all the time. If anyone is interested in playing for stupid ol' fun, I play Gin on Pogo games sometimes. You can IM me at SuperJon9000 to set up a game.

AceHigh - I don't do anything "Just For Fun" unless it involves my Wife and or Kids. I will be ready when you are. Just let me know and Good Luck.

Crawfish I believe is a reference to backing out of a bet or game or not making payment on a game i.e. the movie Tombstone "he crawfished a bet and called me a liar"

Watches - If you are a PayPal account user and are familiar with GameColony Gin - Lets Go. IF YOUR WAITING FOR ME, YOUR LATE. And please, don't let anything stop you except Pure Fear! You know how to contact me and I will be happy to let you know my User Name for that day.
I'm not familiar with the Crawdad statement but if your referring to the bet you wanted to make me on the Justin/Bobby match, all I did was predict exactly the correct outcome and refuse your bet. When two players play pool, if you just blindly pick a player, you should win around 50% of the time.
WHY CAN'T YOU AT LEAST DO THAT WELL ???

I think after you sell 10,000 items on ebay you know Paypal usage more than the average person. When I get a free moment we will surely play some Gin.....also, please find a partner & lets play spades. You can bet much higher playing me & my partner spades & win more too. And I don't know what you are talking about me losing money....most of the money I win is not known. You would be very surprised to find out who I am in with when the money is won. But you, OHB, on the other hand.....since December I have not seen you bet a quarter til last night. Lots of fish catching stories but I never see these fish.

Thanks, you too.

This is a little off-topic, but maybe not since it deals with the topic of cards. Does anyone here play at PokerRoom or UltimateBet? I usually play PokerRoom all the time. Unfortuanetely, I only play for fun right now, because as I stated earlier I'm on a tight budget. I'd like to think I'm a pretty darn good Hold'em player, but my strongest game is probably Omaha Hi/Lo.

Watchez - You Say - "You would be very surprised to find out who I am in with when the money is won".

YOUR RIGHT! I would be VERY surprised! - Ask your mentor, Larry about a fellow you are too young to know, Paul Spears. You are starting to resemble him.

You also say - "Lots of fish catching stories but I never see these fish".
Your previous statement resembles that remark about yourself.

I get to the poolroom about 4 pm everyday and my POOL & BAR tab for the day usually runs about $35 + 25% tip. I don't play for fun - so - I MUST be playing more than You know of. You seem to only be around when there may be $ to be found on the floor. I can recall at least 12 matches of mine in the last 4 days that involved wagering of $100 or more. Sometimes MUCH more. As far as my standing in "The Pool World" - I'll let my 45 year pool record speak for it's self.

Sorry - I don't play Canasta, Go Fish, Bridge OR Spades.

How do you play gin on the internet? Sit there and write down all the cards that are in the discard pile and how played it?

Lets play Bridge.

Capt. - As I stated in a previous post -
"Please don't be one of the players who try to write down every card played, as it will show on the time it takes to play a game and if you need to do that - you CAN'T win anyway".

POOL & GIN ARE THE ONLY TWO GAMES I BET ON!
Notice - I didn't say "Gamble"!

I don't know where you get your information from or why you are so interested in knowing what I win/lose. I will have to start submitting an accounting log to you each month so you can be more accurate. Saturday night I wasn't even there & involved in $1200 total worth of action. Maybe I should have people sign their $100's as proof to you since you seem so concerned. Just because you sit there watching all the action doesn't mean that truly know who is doing the betting.
And I am not too young to know/knew Paul Spears....yes, I knew him and in fact after I beat him playing gin one night, he took me to a few gin tournaments years ago. But to compare me to him is too funny. Wasn't he a great 'card mechanic'.....which in the pool world would be more easily compared to someone that was a backer dumper. Now who on this board is self admitted to doing that???

Your right, I guess your always right!

Yes, I have admitted dumping backers (in the long ago past) because I felt that most backers were just trying to be "Big Shots" in the pool world because they couldn't OR wouldn't ever play themselves.
I HAVE NO REGRETS & OR DEBTS!
Back then we (players) used to tell each other which backers were good scores. It was almost like giving out action spots. A backer who also plays is not a backer in my mind. I honestly don't think we have any true backers involved in the "St. Louis Action" of late.

Watchez - I have no interest in who, when or where you do or don't wager. You are the one who replied to my post. Not mine to yours.

I think your are an asset to the St. Louis pool scene (because you DO play and Will Bet Your Own. - BUT - my reference to Paul Spears was speaking about how he considered himself to be the "Main Steer" and organizer of the St. Louis action.
He once told Jack Cooney that he couldn't get a dimes worth of action here if he didn't put him in on it all. He claimed to run Pool in St. Louis. Jack came to me and asked me who this asshole was and what to do. I said he was like a cancer for pool but he had to be dealt with. I told him to promise Paul anything he wanted and when it was all over, to just tell him that he gave his "END" to Tom Ferry. That was one of the most satisfying phone calls I've ever had.
Calling Paul Spears a card mechanic would be like calling me a jockey. He was a very common card cheater who could only do the crudest maneuvers that took absolutely no skill. I busted him every time he came to the bathhouse where I used to play. Just ask Vernon.
Oh, and FYI, I won a pretty good lick Thursday, Saturday & Monday night also. I WAS THERE, AND (LIKE YOU) MY BETS ARE NOT KNOWN BY ALL. My opinions and bets seem to bring too much heat, so it's best if they are not publicized.
Hey - Lets stop all this banter & wolfing - How can we play some One-Pocket for 1 or 2 c's a game???

We can pay some One-Pocket the same way I play all the champions like yourself.......I will take a ball and the break. And we have to play on a nice, tight table.

And I still love you OHB.....just didn't appreciate being compared to Paul Spears in any way, shape, or form. One of the sweetest days in my pool career was when I got Paul to play me some even 8 ball and had him stuck from the get go, sweating over the table. I took his money to his bank the next day and got 3-1 on the money.

Im glad you guys kissed and made up.......wouldn't want any friction between the "St.Louis boys" when I come out for my visit.... :D

YOU HAVE NO REGRETS & OR DEBTS!..........?????? Hmmmmmmm

YOU ARE AN ABSOLUTE PIECE OF GARBAGE!!!

It's statements like this that really piss me off! It's pieces of trash like you that keep pool from becoming what it could. You could have kept your mouth shut and let people THINK you were stupid but you opened it and removed ALL DOUBT.

You are a THIEF, plain and simple.

Thank you and good luck to YOU,

9 Hours later and no reply from OHB. Since backers were acting like big shots for all the busted pool players it was ok to dump them??? Hmmmmm.

You say - You are a THIEF, plain and simple.

Mr. Steve Lomako - You say - "You are a THIEF, plain and simple". - In speaking with some mutual friends in the Detroit area it appears that you shoudn't be throwing any rocks.
How in Hell have I kept pool from being all it could be? What I was speaking of happened over 30 years ago and it was a common practice among players who crossed paths a couple of times a year. If you’re upset with me for just telling the truth, so be it. Or maybe you were one of the backers.
I COULD CARE LESS!
THE PROBLEM WITH POOL ISN'T DUMPING - IT IS THE LACK OF OPORTUNITY TO MAKE A DIECENT LIVING FROM POOL THAT USED TO NECESSITATE THE DUMPING TO BE ABLE TO EXIST!
I no longer rely on a pool income to pay my bills and or meet my responsibilities so I try to be as informative as I can in this forum.
I notice that your Personal Profile on this site lacks much info where as mine is an open book.
My oldest and most successful sales rep is in the Plymouth, MI area and I find myself in the Detroit area a couple of times a year on business. I also have many fond memories and friends in Detroit. Maybe we could talk this over.

Watchez - You said - "just didn't appreciate being compared to Paul Spears in any way, shape, or form".
I don't blame you - and I must apologize if you thought that is what I was trying to say. As I stated before - You WILL bet your own and have always won & loss as a gentleman as far as I know. I was speaking to a mutual friend last night and found out why I hit a nerve with the Paul Spears comment. Again, I apologize.
I know your involved in some of the wagering even if your not present BUT that is exactly what Paul Spears used to say. The difference is that he never was.
You also say - "I will take a ball and the break".
That does sound like your making an honest attempt to Match Up. I appreciate that and think we should pursue the possibilities.
I have traveled all over the country playing pool when & where anyone else wanted to play for over 20 years, but no more. One of the rewards of my life is the ability of not having to be dictated to.
YOU KNOW WHEN & WHERE I PLAY EVERYDAY.

You also told a good story a while back - On 03/08/'04 @ 1:33 PM to be exact.

*Nothing was happening one day at the room so he goes up to Cornbread and gives him 600 and tells him to play "Detroit Whitey" some 9-ball.....then he sneaks over to Whitey and gives him 600 also and tells him to play Red some 9-ball too! They start playing and Paul leaves, he comes back hours later and they're not playing so he goes up to Red and asked what happened. Red tells him "I lost", so then he goes over to Whitey and asked Whitey how he did. Whitey tells him "I lost"......Paul never said anything to either of them but told everybody else and thought it was hilarious.

Now are you also saying that Cornbread & Detroit Whitey were Thiefs, plain & simple?

You could have kept your mouth shut and let people THINK you were stupid but you opened it and removed ALL DOUBT.

One of my fondest memories of Detroit was ....

One of my fondest memories of Detroit was during the '70's. I found myself charged with various crimes & offences in Niles, MI. The only way I was going to beat the charges was to testify myself, as I had a local attorney who was "In" with the Prosecuting Attorney and the jury trial wasn't looking very good at all for me.
I had to testify as what, where & why I was in MI - so I told a version of the truth about myself & The Capitol Cue Club and being on my way there. All of a sudden the tone of the trial changed to asking me about the poolroom and poolroom customers and less to do with my charges. To this day, I pride myself on the performance, explanations and testimony that I stated at that trial. Bottom Line - I beat one charge and got a hung jury on the other.
I left the courtroom and went straight to the Capitol Cue Club. As you may know this only took a few hours and very surprisingly, as soon as I walked into the poolroom, I was met by 3 fellows, (Joe T., Freddie S. & Paul). They all shook my hand and said I did a great job in Niles. They also said -
I WAS A "STAND UP GUY", so that is what I'm going to "Hang My Hat On"!

This is EXACTLY how I will play you. I also hear there is some talk of you playing Ryan H. some even one pocket. Ryan will play 5 ahead for a dime if you are still interested. I will force him to play.

One of my earliest experiences gambling @pool involved Paul Spears' son Dwayne. I remember it like it was yesterday but probably 15 years ago. We were playing races and he was giving me the 6 ball and he got the breaks. I was up 3 sets, racing to 7. He wins a set to get to be 2 sets loser and then goes to the bathroom. He comes out of the bathroom, wins the next game & marks the '7th bead' up on the wire. I told him this was a new set, he had just won the last one and he says, no that makes me winner of this set. I said, ok but then how many sets loser are you....Dwayne tells me just one set loser now. I told him I quit & to pay me the one set and he suggests I reach into his pocket to get the money. Needless to say I never got paid & I had too much respect for the owner of the pool room to cause a fight. This is the last time I didn't make someone post when playing me. OHB, maybe you still have some contact with the Spears family.....tell Dwayne, he can POST and bet what he wants even on a bar table now. I guarantee I play the set of my life.

Sorry, But........

Watchez - Sorry, but when Ryan started to wolf at me, I GOT PRETTY EXCITED AND ASKED (the powers that be) IF I COULD TEACH HIM A LESSON. I was told "No", unless I was to play for just $20 or $30 a game and keep it sociable. - I'm Not Interested In That! - ?Nuf Said?

Also, I have NEVER had any association with Paul Spears & or his family. I think both you & I are on the same page as far as he goes. As I stated, I pretty much "Put Him In His Place" in front of everyone about that Jack Cooney fiasco.

Ok let's get back to the original topic of this thread.......So when can we play Gin....I would rather play a straight game to 100 for 2-4 c's a game. We could even play 3 or 4 ahead so at least you wouldn't think I was taking a one barrel shot at you. Thursday night around 10:30 PM works real well for me.

Dude, There's a big difference between ME telling a story about someone else and YOU admitting to dumping and still don't give a shit to this day.

You say I shouldn't rocks.........HELL YES I CAN THROW STONES!
Why don't you ask our "mutual friends" in Detroit who I ever stiffed or dumped.......WAIT!!!.......I'll tell you!!

NOT A SOUL!!!!

You are proud of dumping so you could feed your family??

I WORKED my ASS off and did without and sacrificed for my family so my children could have it better than me and they can make it better for their children and so on and so on.

Justify it however you want, you have to live with yourself.
