I don't know where you get your information from or why you are so interested in knowing what I win/lose. I will have to start submitting an accounting log to you each month so you can be more accurate. Saturday night I wasn't even there & involved in $1200 total worth of action. Maybe I should have people sign their $100's as proof to you since you seem so concerned. Just because you sit there watching all the action doesn't mean that truly know who is doing the betting.
And I am not too young to know/knew Paul Spears....yes, I knew him and in fact after I beat him playing gin one night, he took me to a few gin tournaments years ago. But to compare me to him is too funny. Wasn't he a great 'card mechanic'.....which in the pool world would be more easily compared to someone that was a backer dumper. Now who on this board is self admitted to doing that???
Yes, I have admitted dumping backers (in the long ago past) because I felt that most backers were just trying to be "Big Shots" in the pool world because they couldn't OR wouldn't ever play themselves.
I HAVE NO REGRETS & OR DEBTS!
Back then we (players) used to tell each other which backers were good scores. It was almost like giving out action spots. A backer who also plays is not a backer in my mind. I honestly don't think we have any true backers involved in the "St. Louis Action" of late.
Watchez - I have no interest in who, when or where you do or don't wager. You are the one who replied to my post. Not mine to yours.
I think your are an asset to the St. Louis pool scene (because you DO play and Will Bet Your Own. - BUT - my reference to Paul Spears was speaking about how he considered himself to be the "Main Steer" and organizer of the St. Louis action.
He once told Jack Cooney that he couldn't get a dimes worth of action here if he didn't put him in on it all. He claimed to run Pool in St. Louis. Jack came to me and asked me who this asshole was and what to do. I said he was like a cancer for pool but he had to be dealt with. I told him to promise Paul anything he wanted and when it was all over, to just tell him that he gave his "END" to Tom Ferry. That was one of the most satisfying phone calls I've ever had.
Calling Paul Spears a card mechanic would be like calling me a jockey. He was a very common card cheater who could only do the crudest maneuvers that took absolutely no skill. I busted him every time he came to the bathhouse where I used to play. Just ask Vernon.
Oh, and FYI, I won a pretty good lick Thursday, Saturday & Monday night also. I WAS THERE, AND (LIKE YOU) MY BETS ARE NOT KNOWN BY ALL. My opinions and bets seem to bring too much heat, so it's best if they are not publicized.
Hey - Lets stop all this banter & wolfing - How can we play some One-Pocket for 1 or 2 c's a game???
TY & GL
