giving away or selling a defective cue

Giving away or selling

No matter what good intentions are involved 99% of the time something happens and that cue will be seen by more people than any other cue on the planet.

I have a cue like that (cue "with flaw).... it's from a rather notable cuemaker who said he was going to cut it up. I offered to take it on the contingency that it was never to be sold. I did let a friend borrow it when he needed a cue, but it's in my possession and has been for years. It will never be sold. (he also refused to use his standard pin and refused to sign it, which I completely understand, but it's still gorgeous).

There are many cuemakers that don't even think about it - they just cut it up. If it's bothering you enough to post about it, just cut it up and start again.

I guess it all boils down to how much it really bothers you.

I have decided to keep it in my case as a display of some of the ringwork and leather wraps I can do. I am just not going to risk it getting in the wrong hands. It is too easy to tarnish your reputation with one mistake.

Thanks for everyone's input.
