I think Buddy's BEST is better than Keith's BEST!

Funny you should bring that up, OldHasBeen!
Keith was a two-game dog on the lines at the Glass City Open, and he managed to win the set on a hill-hill against Buddy, but not without a struggle. Buddy continued in the losers' bracket and finished higher than Keith, winning $1,500, and Keith came in ninth through twelfth, winning $1,000.
I've never seen Buddy's best or Keith's best, but I will state with assuredness that in a tournament, a race to 10, anybody can beat anybody. For some unknown reason to me, Keith seems to get beat more by the "B players," for lack of a better term, than the name-brand players. I always told him that he brings the best out of everybody when in competition, and I believe this to be true of all veteran players. I'm sure Buddy Hall has experienced the same when it comes to tournaments.
For the cash, I wouldn't venture which one, Buddy or Keith, would come out on top. Both of them are roadsters from yesteryear and have probably made more money on the road than in tournaments.
Each one has individual traits. Buddy moves the ball really good, has GREAT focus, and a kill stroke that is like no one else I've ever seen. Keith is an offensive shooter, much to his detriment at times (IMO), can create patterns that are unbelievable on a field of green, and comes up with shots that seem impossible.
When Keith was playing Johnny Archer at the GCO, Fabio Petroni couldn't believe Keith's shooting style and ball pattern. He planted himself alongside their designated table on the rail and stated, "Keith's a wild man."
Both players are still out there giving their all on the tournament trail and still have a great passion for the sport. Given the opportunity, each of them is capable of winning. The young guns may be more limber and have the sharper eyes, but the veterans have a bigger arsenal of shots and seasoning in the heat of battle.
Buddy Hall is a champion and always will be in my eyes, and I look forward to seeing him compete many more times on the tournament trail. He is truly awesome!
