The dress code was very casual. Hillbilly and Delicious both had their shirt hanging out over their pants.

I think it is winner breaks.

I looked at their web site and it does not give much info.

Gco

The dress code is no blue jeans, t-shirts, or sneakers. Most of the players will wear dress pants, a comfortable pair of shoes, and a collared shirt or dress shirt like on the PGA tour. Format is winner breaks. The break box is in effect. Jump cues are an issue I'm not sure of. The vip party is tonight and I am looking forward to another great tournament in Toledo.

Thanks maybe we will see you tonight

Are you playing Ned?

I won a local qualifier here in town, so that saved me a couple dollars. It'll be great to see you and Jen. Holly and myself will keep an eye out for you guys.

I'm gonna sneak down there now and see if i can get into the ballroom and hit some balls around.

Well, you know Hillbilly, he is the exception to everything. Dress code, times, and everybody on the planet is worn out with his rack problems.

Does he trick rack people?

I met him at the GCO last year seemed to be a cool guy, I didn't hear anyone saying anything about his racks.

Well, I'm here. The drive up through Western Maryland, 2 weeks past the autumn peak, was incredible. There were still some bright colors, making the drive quite pleasurable. The distinctive feature about driving in Ohio is that nobody speeds. The presence of Ohio State Troopers is strong. I must have seen a cop car every 5 minutes when I crossed the Ohio State line.

At 6:00, there will be a VIP buffet where the players and tournament goers gather. I heard a few weeks ago, only 20-plus players were signed up and confirmed, and as of the time of this writing, they're 85-plus and folks are still calling in to reserve a spot in the pro event.

Players have confirmed as of the time of this writing: 2004 Glass City Open Champion Charlie "Hillbilly" Bryant, Little John, Ryan "Genie Man" McCreesh, Jerry Slivka, Nick Varner [two-time GCO champ], Filipino "Jalapena," Timothy Hall, Johnny Archer, Earl Strickland. Danny Basavich is supposed to be en route, and Ryan said Dennis Hatch is going to be here as well. The TD's wife said Jim Rempe is going to be competing this year, though I haven't seen him yet.

BTW, Jalapena said Santos was home in the Philippines.

I saw AzBilliards' Stevelomako checking in the hotel. AND best of all, Diana Hoppe is also going to be providing coverage. So there will be some great pics to check out. Scott Smith will be the tournament director.

That's about it for now.

UGH! Jennie, if you happen to see this before you leave, could you please tell Steve I said hello? He's one of the many people I was looking forward to meeting this weekend. :(

Thank you! Best of luck to Keith this weekend. I hope you guys fare well!

The chart is drawn, 91 players in total (I think) and 16 byes. Other players in attendance: Ronnie Wiseman, John Binion, Joe Brown, Larry Level, Shawn Putnam, Marco Marquez, Chris Batrum.

Currently Keith and Jerry Slivka matched up against Ronnie Wiseman and Marco Marquez for friendly game of one-pocket, best 3 out of 5.

Nick Varner actually won the GCO three times, I was told. Spanish Mike Lebron came to see the festivities, and he won the GCO in 1990. Bobby Hunter is here and also won the GCO.

Jim Rempe looks as if he is really enjoying himself chatting with the players and hitting some balls around.

All in all, the Glass City Open is off to a good start. Keith players tomorrow at 2:00 p.m., the owner of Hall of Fame Billiards in Detroit, a guy named "Cass."

Jam,

Keith seems to have a decent draw. The bracket, although full of great players, is not the strongest. Wish Keith luck. Tell him all the AZers will be rooting for him.

Mike

I like Jason Kirkwood to have another good event...looks like if he gets off to a good start, he will potentially have a rematch with last years winner Charlie Bryant...last year was 11-10 to Charlie... :)

Food for thought!

The whole bottom bracket seems to have alot of the Michigan players in it...Brandon vs Jason to start...interesting...

Jam,
Do you have a way to post the chart? I looked at the Glass website and could not find the post. Thanks
