i need input from the players and people!! what do you think of the glass city open coming back with a lower entry fee and a big prize pool it would be an open event on big tables. would you come? would you play? tell me what you think

glass city

i would. sounds good. i live in the detroit area and would come. keep us posted.:)

i would possibly consider coming to Toledo and actually playing. i wouldnt beat anybody, it wouild be more of a situation where i would just show up and play for the following reasons:

1) the heck of it
2) be a nice experience
3) be my way of supporting a big time pool tournament
4) be cool to tell everybody at the office you are playing in a major pool tournament
5) get to mingle with people/pros, etc.

i would probably lose 11-0 twice, but then again, Mika Immonen lost in the finals of the U.S. Open a few years back 11-0, so how could i do any worse?

You could do worse by expecting to lose 11-0. Have some confidence...

I never played in the GCO, but I did make the drive up from Columbus as a spectator. Not sure if I would play or not, I would certainly consider it. At the very least, I would drive up for a day or two to watch.

i would love to see the glass city open come back,i live in dayton oh. and drove up every year to see it.:p

Glass City

Always had great participation from the Detroit area players. Sure it would be the same or better. Considering same Location? I will show up.

I live in Toledo and would love to see the GCO come back. Most people in the area don't understand how we lost it in the first place. Would definetly come to watch and possibly participate. R Sturgill

SWMBO lives 10 minutes from Toledo, so I'd love to go "see her" for the weekend and stop by the GCO.

Spectator fee too high. Security very rude.

You need to run something like the Derby City, I would play in the one pocket division and maybe the bank.

I played in the GCO two years in a row, until the event started conflicting with WPBA events. I enjoyed myself very much, and would LOVE to play in it again! I just hope that if the GCO is brought back, it won't be scheduled during our women's events again. Thanks and good luck!

I think the needed some sponsers.Tics were a little high so were the rooms. They should have Whole or Half day tickets.

I only got to play in the Glass City Open once (2002), but it was one of my favorite tournaments. I thought the venue and accomodations were well thought out and taken care of.

The only gripe would be the added money (not exclusive to this event at all and I know it is not easy).

If the event were 25k + added, I'll be there! :D

i would love to do a derby like tourney but the thing is i don't believe we a venue big enough for that. i would also be able to add 25k but finding that many sponsors but if anyone knows anybody that would like to help sponsor this let me know I'm looking for some myself. so please keep talking this up I'm doing my best to try to get something going in this area again

forgive my ignorance here, but could you tell us a little more about yourself?

i am sure we havent ever met, unless it was at the BCA in Vegas, or at the WPBA in Peoria. i never made the trek to Toledo, but honestly i do want to play in a big time Pro Tournament one day, and the Glass City Open might be the closest venue for me.
