Some other brands worth considering are:

• Knobloch
• Oakley
• Randolph Ranger
• Tasco
• Wiley-X

I have a pair of Zeiss Scopz that I use for playing pool and I am quite satisfied with them.

Whichever brand you choose look for an adjustable bridge, soft silicone nose pads and flexible "cable" ear holders style to help keep the frame in place.

You can also buy the frame from Cabela's and have your local optician make the lenses for you.

I have a pair of Randolph Engineering XL glasses that I use. They helped tremendously!! My eyes started going bad about two years ago and I had to get glasses. I couldn't play with my glasses on, so I would just take them off to play. My game was bad, now with the RE XL glasses it's back where it should be. I highly recommend them!

Here's where I got mine:

Hope this helps.

Lasik baby

I got Lasik surgery and went from 400/20 uncorrected, to 20/13.

Christyd told me to get it done. She told me contacts would make me a ball better.

She was right.

That's a tough question. I tried the lineless bifocals and was not happy. Currently I use only my distance prescription on my Zeiss Scopz glasses and it works fine for me. However, that may not be what's best or most desirable for others. I think the person best qualified to answer your question is a competent and caring optician (preferably one who plays pool).

I like the way they look. I think I'll try those next when I replace my Zeiss glasses. The problem with shooting glasses is that they have a tendency to make me look like a real dweeb. Not that I really care all that much but still..it would be nice to have a style that helps minimixe the CLMF (crazy looking mo' fo') effect.

I use the DeCot glasses and have for about two years. I recently went from single vision to progressive vision with an adjustment for astygmatism. It has taken me about a month to get used to the progressive vision prescription but my game is back and I am seeing very well.. The bifocals have a vision jump as you refocus which is why I went to progressive vision. Also the customer service is TOP NOTCH at DeCot, I have had many dealings with them and there entire staff are terrific!! As Fats said they look a little funny but as they keep racking the balls for ya they forget about your glasses!!!
