Just to update on Glenn, he went to the hospital in Kansas when he got back home. And he had 3 blocked arteries in his heart. The hospital have put in 3 stints to unblock the arteries and at the moment he is OK.

The hospital in Louisiana said he was OK, just goes to show. Good job they went and got him checked out after he tried playing and couldn't move again.

Good deal! I myself have four stents, one of which is a stent inside of another stent. He should be right as rain in no time. :smile:

I hope Glenn makes a speedy recovery and can get back to doing what he loves and is good at. He is a nice guy, I've had the opportunity to be around him and spend several long nights with him in pool halls.

you have to consider that with the types of foods typically served in Louisiana, acting on a mere *three* blocked arteries may be considered premature. :eek:

and this reminds me of when Rodney Dangerfield was having a lot of heart problems he said that after hearing grim news from one cardiologist, he went to get a 2nd opinion, and that doctor said "And you're ugly, too!" :grin-square:

Try to keep a good sense of humor and get well very soon, Mr. Atwell - I also enjoy watching you play.

Spent a lot of time in our twenties, playing in the pacific nw!!

Played a lot in Portland and spent many a night playing late, picking apart the visitors at the Nite Hawk Bar and Grill.

Hope Glenn is feeling better and stays on top of getting doctor check-ups and staying healthy. He has a beautiful family that loves him and wants him around for many years to come.

My prayers are with him.

Get better soon!

He took down our best tournament about a month ago with a calm demeanor I've not seen. He visited with us while playing Joey Gray like it was just a casual challenge but when he walked to the table his focus on the game was intense. Enjoyed meeting and watching his game.

Hey Cindy,

Yes the docs said it was bronchitis, but Vern wanted him to get checked out again back home, good job they did.

I will get him to call when he is able to, i'm at the us open so i get updates off Vern through out the day.

He is a Great guy to be around with with or without pool table around.
I'm hoping for his speedy recovery.
 
I just (less than 3 months ago) had 2 stents put in my right artery. Luckily I was about 500 feet from the hospital when I started having chest/neck pains. Walked in and had the surgery less than 30 minutes later! Thankfully I live in Canada and it didn't cost a cent.

If caught early enough, there should be no damage at all. BTW, I'm just 41 and in good shape/active.... can happen to anyone!
