I assume that all pool-players can admit that this is THE issue;
to wear that thing or not -- that's the question.

I wear mine when i break because I have a fiberglass coated break stick and when I break I burn the skin off my left knuckle closest to my wrist. 2 tourneys ago I actually burned it really deep in there and it made a super gross scab. But even my glove is wearing a hole in it now.... :(

a glove will give you the smoooooothest cueing action possible. clean hands, talc, ky kelly, you name it - nothing is as smooth as a glove. which is why i love mine.

Hey, I wear hospital gloves (I really like they way they make me look like a surgeon) when I play. Both hands. I also wear an apron because I don't like chalk to get on my yellow and red striped pants. I sometimes wear a smog mask. (Too much second hand smoke). I did, however, quit playing with the Dooley cue because it caused too much attention for being feminine. I will not wear a pool glove because I'm afraid I'd look silly.

I like to wear these to intimidate my opponents

I wear a glove...sweaty hands-can't help it. I'd have to wash my hands 90 times during a match and it still wouldn't help. I don't care how I look but I do get some crap for it. Most people will make fun of it for a bit and then ask how smooth the stroke is and say they're jealous inside. A guy told me that last night.

For a second there, I thought you said that you wore a smorg mask...... and I wanted a Royalty.

No way. I have never worn one I keep my stick and hands clean and that is all I need to do to get that smooth feeling. Beside the fact that I have some nerve damage in my hands that also helps. I finally found a sport where an injury can help:D

i will wear a glove if conditions in the room require such.
id rather win with a glove on than lose without.

An always dry, clean stroke. No feeling the tiny deformities in the shaft. What's not to like?

At Least They're WARM

My gloves have rabbit fur inside of them... (and something that looks like raisins)

No Issue here, never thought about it.

I could care less how I looked, but I have seen people get dependent on them, and I don't want that.

When I was younger, I thought people looked ridiculous wearing a glove. I am older now and above that, but I choose not to wear them beacuse I simply don't like the feel or there of, lack of feel with them on.

Poll ...

Well, the Poll question had answers I didn't care for, so I didn't answer it.

I, simply, have no need for one. My hands always are warm and dry, which I suppose, makes me lucky, yes, even for $1,000 sets.

Would I wear one if I needed one, probably not, I tried one once and didn't care for the 'glove' feel.

My hands sweat so I wear a glove. I don't have a problem with my masculinity so I don't care what others think.

IMO, I think people that have a problem with gloves because they look girly are trying to make themselves feel better about a lack of masculinity.
