Gloves

You mean slide the cut-off finger portion over the shaft and use it by wrapping your finger around it? Don't give Earl any new ideas !!!

FWIW, I AM going to give this a try. What the heck. I've tried about every other gadget out in the pool market :embarrassed2:!!!

Maniac (also a glove user)

Say hello to the "Lube Tube."

My glove makes all the difference in the world.

Super smooth stroke.

I only use it come match time, practice without it. When game time comes, it's like a cheat code.

You are fairly new to the forum, but this thread has popped up many times since I've been on here. There seems to be not a lot of "gray area" pertaining to this subject. People either like them or they think you are some kind of "fairy" for wearing one.

Maniac

This has been a recurring topic here...

I, like many others, have a glove for the summer months or extremely humid rooms. I don't want to use it, but I will if I have to.

Sir Joseph's is not the best glove, either, imo. If you can find a Sure Shot, they're much better.

Wow...wow...wow....

I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm a glove user now.

Yes....I am.

I tried one yesterday after years of laughing at how goofy I thought they looked. Boy, what a fool I was.

I was practicing with a guy who was using one and he shot pretty good and I casually asked, "Do you have one I can try?". He did, and let me borrow it.

What can I say....I shot great with it. I like for my shafts to be as smooth as glass...and man, this did it! I don't like feeling a gritty shaft...or even slightly un-perfect shaft on my bridge hand. It diverts my focus (I think)...so this really felt great to me.

Again, I really can't believe it - but I, Matt_24, will now shoot pool with a glove....unless I lose it.

I too laughed at a couple of 4 speeds, who were first to buy a glove. Some days, here in Oklahoma, playing is difficult & my local Pool Room didn't allow powder.

I bought a glove in desparation. Much to my surprise, I found that I was poo-pooing something, that would definitely be an aid to shooting.

Thanks to whoever gave this idea birth.. I have 2 in my bag, at all times.

At a UPA event in 2005, John Schmidt and I were the only two players wearing gloves. I hate it when powder gets all over the table. For sweaty hands, I feel that a glove is the best cure. At the time, John was one of the only players I knew that felt the same way.

In 2006, John captured a 245 ball run on video. In that video, he was wearing a glove. Later that year, John won the US Open wearing a glove. A few weeks ago I went to a Seminole Pro Tour event in Jacksonville and there were gloves being worn by 1/4 of the field. Coincidence? I think not.

If anybody from Sir Joseph is reading this... get John Schmidt on your payroll. He's earned it.

I went to the MD State Straight Pool event and Mike Davis, Ryan McReesh, and Jeanette Lee all used gloves....and all play good.

I honesty just "happened" to try one with this guy thinking I would hate it....boy was I wrong.

Gloves are only slightly more useful than pool shoes!

To each their own, but you won't find me wearing one. I don't use excessive powder either and rarely use any. I can see where the glove is useful for people in humid climates and for those who have very sweaty hands.

P.S. you will never see me in yellow pool glasses either!

When I started I couldn't play with one, and now I can't play without one. They just feel so much smoother and help my sweating hands. Although, I will agree that they look a little silly. Especially, if you are like me and not a "pro" player.

Using a glove is one of the smoothest sliding feeling one could have. When I beat a guy in a race for $500 he said thats the first time he lost to a guy wearing a glove and I told him he could try getting it back but he didn't try. It is also another one of the products we sell.
