most of you know the double refund cue, i started building that cue with a snakeskin log that was reported to be at least 25 years old, i cut it over a 5 year period and still 2 years later it developed a very small hairline crack, i had to strip, fill and refinish the whole butt. it has been ok for the last year, but you never know with snakewood.
so, as smart as i am, i just started another cue, it is one of my simple designs snakewood forearm and butt diagonal spliced with a birdseye handle. i will have to do a partial core because of the weight of the sw.
its glued up and turned round to 1.34, its hanging in a 72 degree room. i look for cracks every day. i am going to turn it to size in the next year.
