About 3 years ago when recycling some old house cues into shafts I found a killer curly shaft. I was going to use it at sometime on a special cue. I cut and hung it with my other shafts. About a year later I found a matching butt. Got the butt ready, got my shaft down and put it on the lathe and it had warped.
I rehung it hoping to use the great wood for something else. About 6 months later I respun it on the lathe. Crooked.
today cutting shafts I found a really nice birdseye shaft. I hung it next to the curly. What the hell I put the curly on the lathe. Damn curly shaft is dead straight. I put it on my other lathe. It is dead straight.
I hung it back up. I'm checking it again in 3 months.
