Wow, give me some time to think about this because explaining cushion nose heights is going to require a whole lot of typing, and I don't know if I want to go through all that on my cell phone, since I don't own a computer or tablet. Not only that, some special tooling and jigs are required to do the work correctly. If I decide to explain all this, it's going to require being in its own thread, because its going to end up being a sticky, because this kind of detailed information has never been fully explained before, because you can't do the what, without understanding the why, and how to.it pays to read all threads and comments...

Hey, looking forward to your input.Wow, give me some time to think about this because explaining cushion nose heights is going to require a whole lot of typing, and I don't know if I want to go through all that on my cell phone, since I don't own a computer or tablet. First of all, just because the Brunswick Monarch K55 cushions measure 1 1/8" across the top, and the K66 cushions measure the same 1 1/8" across the top, that don't make the K55 cushions interchangeable with the K66 cushions. They have a different triangle profile. If you slide them together end to end, you'll see the K66 cushions have a 1/8" taller nose height compared to the K55 cushions. The rule of nose height being 63.5% of the ball, +/- 1% making the nose height from 1 25/64"ths on the low end of the scale, to 1 29/64"ths on the high end, this ONLY applies to rails that have a subrail thickness of 1 11/16"ths thick, are using the K55 cushions, and have a subrail bevel of 23.5 degrees.Hey, looking forward to your input.
Last year I already started a thread with this topic:
What angle for rubber cushions ???
Goodmorning all, Regarding the dimensions of pool table cushions I found these graphics online. The first shows a 20° angle for glueing the cushion, the other graphic of the ARtemis brand I imported in Fusion360 and it measures a ±23°. The third graphic shows a 45° angle on the bottom side of...forums.azbilliards.com
Maybe you can add your knowledge to that thread.
thx,
Your GC1 subrail bevel was 23.5 degrees originally, designed for the K55 profile 1 1/8" wide Monarch cushions. You must of installed K66 prifile cushions, which is why they were 3mm to high to begin with. So, there's where the problem started. Had you installed K55 profile cushions the nose height would have been correct right out the gate.Hey, looking forward to your input.
