Gold Crown 1

Also tried bar keepers friend on one of the feet and I was really pleased. I hope they all clean up that well. A before and after pic. Date on the bottom of one of the feet is 2-26-63.

Btw: why do my pics keep rotating?!

Lol! There might be a pool table under there.

Thinking about switching it to the leveling feet. Think it’s worth it? Or leave it original? Did the non-leveling feet hold up?
Call me, I can more than likely answer your questions. You don't need to switch out the feet to make them adjustable, I can tell you what to do for that. The leg leveler feet are not a direct switch over for the feet you have on that table in the first place.

Thank you so much! After I get everything sanded and prepped for re-assembly I’ll be calling for some advice if you don’t mind. Thank you again!

In the mean time, does any have a good way to get the scratches off the feet? Bar keepers friend does a good job of cleaning, but I’d like to get out some of the scratches if I could. Before and after bar keepers:

There aren't too many options. They need to be sanded, polished and re-anodized. You can live them bare aluminum but they will oxidize pretty quickly if not maintained. I opted fo powder coating. My GCI has the steel pot metal/nickel plated feet and they were pretty hammered.

Those look great! What color powder did you use?

I'm not sure of the manufacturer, but the color is Almost Chrome. I did the pocket castings too. Be aware: old castings are prone to outgassing; small pimples in the finish from impurities trapped in the casting that are released with high temperature. My powder coater had to do a few pieces several times to achieve an acceptable finish.

I had the rail trim polished and anodized and I think the powder coating matches it perfectly. If I did it over again, I would probably powder coat the trim too as the cost for polishing and anodizing the extruded aluminum wasn't cheap ($400). They wanted $800 to do the pocket castings with the caveat the cast aluminum may have a rainbow effect when the anodizing was applied and they wouldn't guarantee it or redo them if they came out that way. This is when I settled on the powder coating.

I put mine in my lathe, sanded them down to bare aluminum, then polished them to a chrome like finish. I left them uncoated and after 10 years they still look great, and thats on a concrete floor in our basement.

Those look new!! Im going to buff them again and then I got some mothers metal polish the other day that i thought i would try. What polish did you use?
They will not look like fastone371's until you get through the anodizing and into bare aluminum. This will require sanding (which allow you to level out the deep scratches) or chemical strip (Easy Off Oven cleaner removes anodizing).

This is a GC1 I built on a hydraulic lift system so the customer could move his table everyday when he parks his car in the garage.View attachment 688670
Everytime he rolls it back in place to play, he sets it down in the circles on the floor the feet sit in, and lines up the hour hand line on the feet with the hour hands on the floor, hits the release, and it slowly lowers back down in place, been level for I guess about 7 years now😅😉
