Gold Crown 10 footers? did they make em

there is a fair amount of used 10 foot snooker gc's in my area

would simply switching the rails to pool rails work well or are there issues with the pockets that would prevent this from playing like a pool table?

Table

They made the GC 1 & 2 in 10' snooker or carom/billiard table, NO three cushion heated slate and was NOT offered in standard 10' pocket billiard table.
I seen a 6x12 GC snooker that I believe was made in Canada.
The last 5x10 pocket billiard table that I know of was made in the 30's-40's......I could be wrong, maybe mr.bond will know.....?

The GC snooker castings are different than the GC pocket pool table castings. The rails are thinner and the cushions are different.
I suggest you have a set of rails built for pool and keep the snooker rails aside for snooker. Contact mark gregory down in ATL for a set of custom built rails for your GC 5x10.

Have a extra pair of shorts on when you hear the price to convert a $500 snooker table into a pocket billiard table, the price is well worth it tho.

from what I understand the Gold Crown was introduced in 1961 at which point they were still manufacturing at least two ten foot models, the Anniversary and Centennial

Yes they made 10' and they made 8'.

I have played on all of them.

Now I have a question, did they make 12'? Never seen one of those.

10 foot "pool"??? or just carom and snooker?

at any given time in my area there are usually 10 and 12 foot models available used, see the 3 examples below

I still have not been able to find any reference/photo online for a Gold Crown 10 foot pool model

10ft pocket tables were available. But not many were sold, hence the rarity.

All three were available as 10ft models until at least 1976, perhaps longer.

They started making the GC2 in 1974, I know the GC2 was not offered in 10' pocket pool table....

Not sure if they did special order pool tables but the 6x12 snooker might of been made in Canada..
The only 10' GC, anni, or centennial I've seen are snooker or converted to pool aftermarket.

we had a factory a Brunswick factory in Toronto (was converted to an upscale pool hall for a longtime) so maybe they did some snooker specials for our market

pretty sure anniversaries and centennials were made in 10 ft pool
