It took us many weeks to finish it. Work and Family had to come first. But its finally done!

Started with a good deal from Trent.
The table came from a hall in Maryland I believe.

We took our time and did it right. We were having issues getting slates level, so we gave up for the day. Came back a week later and boom, turned out perfect.

Simonis 860HR. We bought it about a month before we even had the table. Good thing we did.

No pictures of the pocket cuffs, but they turned out well. The big problem with Simonis is they dont give enough extra material to do it. I had some used Championship Ultra green that was close enough in color, so I used that. Cant see much of a difference with the top assembled and installed.

Rails came out great! I did have a few stretch shadows, but not very noticable when installed. The cushion noses are dead straight though. Had Trent install new Superspeeds for me before we picked up the table. They play WONDERFUL!

Very nice! Easy to get impatient and rush things. Taking your time on a table that will easily last a lifetime or two is always the right route. A plus that the slate had plenty of time to settle.

The best are those that claim to not "have time" to do it right so they rush thru it doing a crappy job. If you don't have time to do it right the first time how do you possibly have time to do it a second time to get it right??

I read the thread and with dread said

I don't see when the party is...or where. Please advise?
 
My brother is an impatient Man by Nature. When we were doing the slate, he kept saying that's good enough. I disagreed. We kind of got into a sibling spat. I said let's just walk away and come back fresh later. Which was the right decision, because the slates are absolutely flawless. Perfect ball rolls... cannot rub your hand up and down the slate and tell where the seams are at all.

We were very impressed with stretching the cloth. Covering the bed is his Forte. Once we got the stretch Index right, it really looks good. Very few variations in the stretch lines

Even though I've been in a few pissing matches with him, I owe much of my success in setting up this table to Glen. The thread on slate setup was a giant help. Regardless of any history between us in the past (or the future) I have to give thanks were a thank you is due. Thanks Glen.

A BIG thank you to Trent. Without him, none of it would have been possible.

I took over pushing a crew in a chemical plant. One journeyman was huge. About a head taller than me and I stand six-two. He was a bit overweight too, between 350-400 at a guess. He started each day with a full playmate cooler, not the lunchbox, and emptied it every day!

Three or four days after I took over my boss came by to see how things were going. "Don't you want to get rid of Louis?" I told him I wished I had a crew full of Louis'. He hung at least 80% as much material as the fastest man on the crew, was always where he was supposed to be, and he was the only man on the crew whose work I could check at the end of the day at a fast walk! Right the first time is not only faster, it is headache free. Nobody benefits from having to come back the second time.

Now some may not believe it, I'm having a hard time believing it myself, but the first two games we played on it, I had two break and runs (8 ball) back to back. Never been able to do that before. My brother, the racker, is my witness. Even HE was saying WTF!!!

It does play a little on the forgiving side. With the new Simonis, and the standard 5 inch pockets it does. It will toughen up a bit as the cloth wears in.
