You mean a gold Crown light? AFAIK they didn't make a a specific 'GC4 light'. https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/brunswick-gold-crown-light-diamond-light-dimensions.324490/Would anyone with a Gold Crown IV light be willing to give me some measurements? Having no luck finding one to buy, going to have one built.
Perhaps a pdf of the Brunswick manual for the light?
Thanks

some serious hdware holding that up. what does it weigh?
I built my first light for my old AMF off the dimensions provided in the attached thread as well as our Gold Crown lights. Not sure if you got the measurements I emailed you on our Gold Crown lights, but here they are for reference. The only thing I would consider altering is the shape of the panels at the corners. I'd alter the ends of each to mimic the shape of the Gold Crown IV aprons. I used the aprons on my GCI as a guide and shortened them. I tried to keep the ends and the center as close to the same dimensions (height) of the GCI apron as possible so it matched. The head and foot panel were complete freehand. I'm happy to come over this week to help you out with a template.

This will also help you in your build. It might be a good idea to share this with the guy who's will be helping you build one. Man, if I had access to the shop where I built ours, I'd love to build another.
I never weighed it but II would guess about 100 pounds.some serious hdware holding that up. what does it weigh?
There's nothing wrong with quality fluorescent bulbs. I get 20,600 Lumens at 5,000K and a CRI of 90 out of my fixture.Buy the LED panel lights and build the box around them. The GC light had fluorescent tubes.
Would suck to drop it...I never weighed it but II would guess about 100 pounds.
A guy with a busted hip dropped it once. Fucking old people...Would suck to drop it...
Gold Crown style? Pics?I made my own using pinewood, soft wood and easy to shape.

Agree nothing "wrong" with them. But if someone is going through the trouble of building a new light from scratch, wouldn't it make sense to use the modern technology? Especially since its commodity pricing now. There's nothing wrong with quality fluorescent bulbs. I get 20,600 Lumens at 5,000K and a CRI of 90 out of my fixture.
The commodity priced led's don't produce accurate lighting if you care about that sort of thing. Take Rexus' fluorescents (and what I used for my old light), at 90 CRI they are producing some of the most accurate color you can buy. The Predator arena light (not commodity priced) is at 80 CRI.Agree nothing "wrong" with them. I'm shooting for the second kind of cool here, a good match to my Gold Crown.I made my own using pinewood, soft wood and easy to shape.

I personally didn’t want to go with panels in my fixture. Fluorescent fixtures were easy to source and when the bulbs become obsolete, I’ll remove the ballasts and run frosted LED tubes with the same specs.Agree nothing "wrong" with them. And aesthetically dull. The lights I've built do not have an issue with "glaring on seated players faces". Properly installed diffusers eliminate glare. Here's one of the simplest set ups of all.
4 bulb fixture for a 9'.
Plenty of lamp fixture clearance for racking and breaking. No lights glaring on seated players faces.
I looked at different types of lights and went with the 4 pot with 60 watt/each LED bulbs. There's plenty of light and reasonably priced. Here's one of the simplest set ups of all.

Glad it works for you, but I need more light. Your fixture is only putting out about 3200 Lumens. I doubt it meets the BCA Lux minimum of 520 on many areas of your table. One of the fluorescent bulbs in my fixture is almost as bright as 2700 Lumens.I looked at different types of lights and went with the 4 pot with 60 watt/each LED bulbs.
