Gold Crown models

Not sure what you mean by functional differences. There are some differences in the frame, slates, and other parts (like castings etc.) from one model to the other.

There are also some differences in the ability to adjust for level. I think the GC1 and maybe the 2's did not have adjustable feet. The GC4 had 22 slate levelers built into the frame but I'm not sure about the earlier models.

You might ask in the mechanics section for a more expert response.

OK. I'll duplicate this thread in the mechanics section is that is alright with the moderators.

I have a GC1 AR6100 and it does not have the slate leveling screws. It does have adjustable cam type pins to line up each slate piece to each other. I used a total of 6 playing cards to shim the slate to match each other, it turned out being much easier than I thought it would be. I have seen wooden tapered shims used to adjust the slate but the wood seems to compress and I thought this could affect how level each section of slate would be.

If you change a couple of words around they probably won't notice, lol, or just ask the mods to move the thread over there (hit the report post button and say you are the OP and request it be moved to the mechanics forum).

It will help to be a little more specific in what you are asking though, so provide a little more info than "functional difference".

Any functional difference between the models worth considering before purchase (used)?

Here's all you need to know....ANY GC can be made to play perfect.....or like shit...no matter which model, the future of any table you may end up with...is DETERMINED by who you decide to have work on it...period!

GC Model Differences

Found this a few years ago online and glad I saved it. I looked for you but couldn't find the site again. Anyway, here it is below - hope it helps a little even though it only has GCI's and GCII's listed.
