I am looking for a set of pockets for my Gold Crown that I just picked up. I has one missing and the 5 that I did get are red and I want black ones. Let me know what you have and a price. Pics would be nice too. Thanks Dave

I bought a set of replacement GC pockets from Classic Billiards. He has two types for sale, one is considerably cheaper, but I recommend the more expensive set. I think they run about $85.00. They look right, and hold about 10 balls each. Also, they don't leave any kind of marks on the balls.
I will definitely buy them again when I need another set.

I think genuine Brunswick pockets can be had for about $160.00 from other sources.

Are they a plastic or a rubber material? What pockets will fit in my GC1? I am sure more will fit than just one made for the GC1. Dave

GCI pockets

The Classic Billiards pockets I recommended are made of plastic. Once again, though, they don't leave black marks on the balls. I am sure happy with mine. Also, I am assuming you are looking for drop pockets, and not ball return.

If you're interested in used pockets, GCI, II, or III will fit. I think Sport Kings and Anniversaries may fit as well. The AMT GC lookalike has rails that will interchange with Gold Crown III's, and therefore the pockets may interchange as well.......but that's just a guess.

However, if you'll post this question in the Mechanics forum, there are some guys there that will know for sure every pocket that will fit a GCI.

Good luck to you and congratulations on buying a used Gold Crown.

May be a dumb question, but what all is involved in replacing the pockets? I just purchased a GCII, and the pockets are leaving small marks on the balls.

Replacing Pockets on GC II

The pockets are held in place by two hex screws. Look for the recesses on the inside wall of the pocket. Remove the screws and squeeze the pocket to deform it enough to remove it from the top or bottom.

Be sure and set the screws deep in the recess when you install the new pockets. If the heads are not set properly, they will chip your balls immediately.

The new pockets will need to be trimmed to fit nicely against the frame. Before you remove your old pockets, look down into them to see how well they fit. If much daylight shows, you may want to trim your new ones a little closer.
