Does anyone know what material the gold wrap in the picture is and if it is still available?

(The picture is from a craigslist ad I came across.)

Thanks

You might want to post this in "Ask the Cue Maker".

I am not an expert, but it is likely a synthetic like nylon, rayon, orlon, etc.

I have some gold linen if anyone wants to buy some. Might be more durable than silk. Cool look on the right cue though.

Silk just had not occurred to me.

Very cool though.

I know some of the antique Brunswicks had silk, and then of course some like the one shown here as well as other makers of that era.

I am wondering...has anybody had a modern cue done with silk?

I have a 100 year old brunswick that is darn near mint but somebody wrapped it with modern linen. It really looks out of place. I have been trying to decide if I want leather, silk, or old style off-white linen.

I actually got some NOS antique linen to rewrap it, but now I am not sure. I was considering having leather done by this guy: http://www.vintagecuesforyou.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=7&Itemid=166

Now I am wondering if silk might be the way to go. I hate making these decisions!:eek:
