The premiere of the IPT's KING OF THE HILL on primetime which from most people's opinion was good, this is alo the 1st time in years we have atrue World 14:1 champion Thorsten Holmann. I'm more excited about our future than ever. Thanks for giving me hope Randy Goldwater, Charlie Williams, and my TD Deno Andrews and Kevin Trudeau, with OLN AND EUROSPORT pool can soon be enjoyed by all who love this fascinating game of skill and the great players all around the world who devote so much trying to master it.

I watched it last night, and while it was a good show, it was lacking in the kind of pool action you'd see on ESPN.

They did show several pros dogging shots though......which gives me hope for the future....

The big thing that stood out was the trash talk against the women players. Archer stated that he lost because he underestimated Korr, BECAUSE she was a women. Mike Segal also stated he didn't like to play against the women, and he doesn't think any of them will get to the hill to play him.

Allison Fisher was impressive, but came up dry on the break repeatedly.
Putnam lost his cool because a waitress walked through his sight line.
Earl the Pearl thew a mini tantrum and went from wearing 2 gloves to no gloves in his segment.
Manalo has the weirdest break I've ever seen.
McCready lost his lose match and said he should have had a couple beers before shooting to loosen up. His post match interview looked like it happened after he'd had a couple beers. Keith is very entertaining.

All in all a really good show. My hope is that as the field narrows we'll get to see more of the action...

Hey Leil, I remember you.
Good moment for pool, yup. Hope more and more things are to come...

I think that they should do a reality TV show about pool players. Like that UFC reality show. Not that I like reality TV, or would respect the show much - but it would probably reach more people.

I felt the show and some of the comments by the players may have been a little staged, but it was entertaining!....better than just the average tourney match where the players are silent with no emotion, and boring as mud. From a players POV I want to see great pool....from a marketing POV it was better for joe homeowner to hear a little barking......they don't know the difference between a great player and a shortstop so why teach them, just entertain them and maybe get them to play a little. I wanted to watch more when it was over....

I think he was more or less correct. He said Karen Corr and Allison Fisher were great players that could easily win matches, but he didn't think they'd be able to make it to the finals. This was true and I think it's a pretty fair prediction any time there are women in fields predominantly made up of men.
