Customer called and wanted a golden ratio cue. I had never heard of such a thing and was told to google it. It makes for a great read as the golden ratio has been used for centuries in building it is 1 to 1.618.
It intrigued me and I love to try different things, so
He decided he wanted a cue 55 inches long shaft 34 and the butt 21, not exact golden ratio but that's what he wanted. when I was done I think I had made 5 different cues. he has since bought all of them.
I thought I was doing something different and never been done before then I remembered the 3/4 snooker cues they have approx. 42 inch shafts and 14 inch butts.

and to be truthful, I could not really tell much difference between the hit of it and a regular cue.

Ultimately, put together cues are one solid unit. What makes the joint separating shaft from butt so important? Why not the A joint for instance representing the golden ratio division? Why shouldn't the ratio be more important to say, tapers?

But hey. Name brand food tastes to most people better even when it's exactly the same and even when they know it's exactly the same. The idea that we are getting something special makes it special.
