Firstly can I say that I was in the school of "give the guy a break" when the first Saschagate was running its course. Everyone deserves a second chance, we learn by our mistakes, yada yada yada.
To pull the same trick a second time, however, to so willingly spit in the face of people who trusted you, gave you the benefit of the doubt. Wow. That takes a special kind of guy.
During Saschgate I, I heard people talking about the incident at Amsterdam Billiards. They were making jokes about Sascha, calling him names etc. Also, when someone would miss, another guy would say, "why didn't you Sascha it in?" or "maybe you should use your Sascha now".
I thought about posting the story, it seemed pretty funny, but as I say, I thought the guy deserved a break.
Now, however, with Saschagate II... now that he's made a bunch of people question their faith in humanity... I think he's deserving of the maximum scorn possible. Which is why I'm suggesting that the word 'Sascha' be adopted by everyone in the pool community similar to the word 'Mulligan' in golf, a do-over.
From now on when I'm playing a friendly game, I plan to ask my opponent if I can use "a Sascha" whenever I miss an easy shot. Maybe some guy was moving in my line of vision, or the table doesn't roll straight, and I deserve "a Sascha". Maybe before a game even starts we could agree how many Saschas we both get throughout the match. (I think three Saschas in a race to a hundred sounds about right.)
Let's not all get too heated about what happened. Let's turn this guy into a joke. It seems to me that's just about the best way to deal with it, and pretty much all he deserves.
[By the way, if anyone spots any spelling mistakes in this message, perhaps you could send me a pm and I'll go back and Sascha the thing.]
